ISO sonic 31ss

Under $40k with trailer and up to 300 miles from chicago.

Based on my experience when I was in the market, mine is probably the only one that is within 300 miles of Chicago. It over budget, but only around 70 hrs on fresh power. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...-4-o66372.html

Trust me, I've been looking over your boat for months. Almost went to look at (kick its tires) when GSC had it at the lake in the hills location.

Thinking about selling mine. 1997 454/500hp. asking 40k. There is one in Va with a fantastic paint job, he is asking 46k, was asking 51k. But we are 700+ miles from Chicago..haha

Just Sayin 07-18-2016 09:39 PM

thought so, but figured it couldn't hurt.

Yeah, been seeing that one. There was a good deal on one with an arch but it was a salt boat out of Melbourne beach Florida.

Just Sayin 07-18-2016 09:47 PM

best of luck in the search.

chrisvr6 07-18-2016 09:49 PM

What're you guys towing it with? I hear they're heavy.

Just Sayin 07-18-2016 09:52 PM

They are, I do not tow mine, It is in a Hi & Dry. When I brought it home to detail it, I used a Ram 3500 dually. I do not know Matt personally, just from the Sonic page on fb.

You definitely need a 3/4 truck or bigger.

I'd be happy to show it to you. If you saw it in person you would be wanting to bring it home.

7000# dry for a 31' boat with twin big blocks is pretty average.

That could be a shade light for Sonics, especially older ones.
My early 26' Sonic (single BBC) fully loaded (wet) was over 7000 lbs. loaded on the trailer. I suspect it was well over 5500 lbs. dry.

GO4BROKE 07-20-2016 04:28 PM

That's what the sonic literature listed for dry weight.

Good luck with your search. We use ours on Lake Michigan and it performs very well for the size. The pullout bed is great for the overnighting we do. Unfortunately its currently down with a motor problem, otherwise would be happy to offer a ride.

Trying to stay under $40k. Thanks though.

Sick Stinger 08-08-2016 03:08 PM

SP123 on the boat has one I believe he was looking to sell.

sp123 08-09-2016 12:49 PM

I need more than 40..... as for the tow question, I used an F250 for years on the highway it was great.. .but on and off the ramp it was a struggle... just bought an F 350... night and day pulls like nothing behind us....

chrisvr6 08-09-2016 01:34 PM

Make sure you advertise around lake michigan. We're all dying to get our hands on rough water boats like yours. Should sell with ease.

sp123 08-09-2016 02:57 PM

i have a guy here in RI that is interested.... I had it advertised in May but with the early warm weather I decided to keep it for the season. I will advertise it again in September.
