98 Prowler with 502 and Procharger???

What kind of performance do you think boat would have? Also, it does not have external steering, would it be a problem with that much horsepower. I love this boat and may just have to buy it!! Thanks for any comments.

What stage and how much boost? If I'm running in the upper 70 range I want hyd steering...or you might:eek:

Not sure. I just know the boat has one. Owner says 78-80 mph range.

Probably a stage 2 with 5-6lbs or so then. Should be a pretty reliable set-up. As far as the steering it depends on how and where you drive it. If your in it alot I'd put on the steering. Is this the one at offshore? If so looks like a nice boat.

boat is in Maryland, so salt water I am afraid. Has 185 hours on motor and bilge looks very clean. How many hours should you expect out of a ProCharged motor?

If this boat is at Offshore Performance, in Grasonville, I have seen the boat you are talking about; but not up close. Offshore-Performance are fantastic people. Hugh and Frank are top notch. Hugh ran the boat, and said it went slighty over 80 on GPS. I am going by there this weekend on my way to DE; although it is supposed to rain. I can probably afford a few minutes to take a closer look, provided it is not raining.

There are two Prowlers on this board with big(ger) power than stock in NY. They should chime in anytime.

If I am not referring to the boat you are, check out:

PS, you want hydraulic steering.

olemissalum 10-09-2002 08:36 PM

That's the one. I am concerned about the lack of hydraulic steering with that much HP. Not sure how long the ProCharger has been there but worried will need new tiller arm and possibly gimbal bearing with that many horsies running through there on a stock steering system. The pics I have seen show the boat to be very clean!!!

The guys at Offshore are very knowledgeable and can easily set that boat up right for you.
For the number they have on it you'd be hard pressed to beat that set-up for the money. Put hydraulic steering on it and you have a deep V that runs 80MPH safely, can take the big aqua and you have cabin space. As long as you run a blower application appropriately you can get substaintial reliable use from it.
