The upswing on the prop testing is I certainly have a pair for just about any situation! Best of luck on dialing in...if your weather is like ours it may be a bit before we get to play again....

Do you guys prefer to do your test runs in the spring and fall when the air is cooler? That's assuming it's not 90 degrees year-round. And Audacity, I know it gets cold where you are so don't tell me it's 75 and sunny every day.:D I mighta been born at night but it wasn't last night.:D

For maximum MPH absolutely...mid summer you loose several MPH. Even worse for blower motors and carb'd stuff. I change up to two pitch sizes in extreme situations.

My 31 ss was factory built, it would run 81 any day of the week, it had 500HP EFI. The best I ever saw was 84. These were GPS numbers. Jay Ross said this hull in a stripped down model would go 86.

You running 28s?? What were you running before.Speed..RPM.. RPM now? How much fuel? How many people?? Weather conditions??? up river..down river..Lake??? Water conditions and temp???? Wind conditions.head wind. tail wind???? Maybe I should have had them do my blades...Or I need to have someone show me how to run this boat!! :drink: |
I was prior owner of Jim's boat. I am glad he has, he takes great care of it. Jim may reply on this also. It just dosen't happen it takes a while to get it wound out and get things tweeked. You just need a good long stretch and some patience. One thing I did notice, when people were making statements about how fast their boat was supposed to be. Remember the factory or Jay only has a 1/4 tank of fuel and a life vest and nothing else. Water, coolers, food, ice, beer, sodas, and for those of you that have a wife or girl friend know how much crap they can pack in a boat. All this is taken into consideration by good prop person.

Thanks, 45ss I love the boat its a lot of fun and a head turner looks and sound great! I have noticed the boat likes some strong chop to get on top of the water. I have my a/c out of the boat and the water and waste tanks dry. |
