Construction balsa divinycel?

I have been trought extensive search regarding how the 1998-2005 Sonics were built.
i see diffrent informations from different sources. Some state that the bottoms are balsa cored others claim solid glass others foam core. Wood stringers vs foam stringers. Divinycell yadayada... also found something stating that they went from composite back to balsa in 2003 or so? Verry strange material swap since more people are chasing wood free boats!
Does anybody know the real story and the materials that were used over the years?
i assume all models shared the same construction methods for same year??

all I can find is mixed up informations over the web🤔

different build material also different owners of the company , around 2003 -2004 they started infusion , I had a 2004 where they infused the deck only and i had stress crack all over the deck only , it flex to much :( but earlier and later years where built stronger trial and error

Early nineties Sonics were Divinicell core on hull and deck with Cypress stringers.

Something not right there. Storm boat ? Sunk ? or something like that. I have a 2001 386 and IMO they are very well built for anything built in early 2000 s.

Maybe the 386 was built different than the 31. ??

jeffs4139 05-02-2020 11:51 AM

Boat never sunk knew who the owner was as i bought it locally. It was indoor kept on a rack since new and was never apart. when i took it apart i had noticed the k planes were kinda just thrown on with very little 5200.loved the boat other than that issue but when i talked to sonic i gave them the hull numbers etc they didn't have a answer for me.
