Squeaky Steering

Hello- have a 42’ that has started making a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. Haven’t determined if it’s in shaft or steering box behind the helm.

Anyone have this issue previously? Any pointers to start with or help to identify? Thanks in advance.

Says rotary rack and pinion.

Try lubing the rack.
