Nothing of use there. Just a tag from the original build. It was Jay Ross’s original name before it became Sonic boats. The address is where the early “Sonics” were born. Not sure if Jay is still alive. He was into cigar imports after his boat building days.

27" Sonic SS
Thank you for the answer, kind of what I figured. I guess it will be off to Ohm meter ville to trace down some of the wiring and switch panels. Just out of curiosity and I hate to assume but the switch panel in the cabin, I would believe has to get its power from the cabin power rocker on the dash?

Another quick question for everyone, trying to find the hinges for the compartment doors in the cabin, I need a dozen of them but am having a hard time finding someone that has this style, I attached a couple pictures of the hinge

Finally found the hinges. The other question I have is does anyone know where they might hide the fresh water tank and fresh water pump.
It's a 1989 27 Sonic SS. has 2 sinks and a shower head inside the small head area. Uses a valve in the head to switch water from shower head to sink and then theres another sink on the port side in the cabin. The pump switch is in the switch assembly in the cabin |
Sonic... Three piece Hull with the (Inner Liner).
On the 31, I believe it was between the (Inner Liner) & the Hull (Side). Basically right below the fresh water (Fill). Seems like it was on Starboard side next to steering wheel. I think you could access is from storage lockers in the cockpit or from the access doors in the bathroom...more likely |
JR Custom Marine stands for Jay Ross.
He's still around AFAIK. After selling the Sonic brand, and the building it was housed in, last I knew he pivoted into the high end concrete hardscape/driveway business. I have a cell number for him from 10+ years ago. PM if you'd like to try and reach out. But NOTHING of that brand is carryover to what (may) exist today. |
