The fastest 31SS?

Well, it's done. A 2003 with 575sci's/PFM super chillers,XR's modified, hull modified...a stomping 98MPH. This beeatch is loaded with all the toys and still has more mid-range torque and acceleration than most can safely use. Granted not fast in today's so called environment but dayyyyum she is pretty and is unfreakin believable in the 2500-5000RPM range. Took a bit but I love it when a plan comes together!

Sound like a cool boat let's see the pics....

dyno 04-10-2003 07:58 PM

yea lets see it!

Pure Energy 04-10-2003 08:02 PM

Thats great! the question is, what are you going to do to get those extra 2 MPH?!!! You HAVE to hit the century mark. You are too close!!!

Whats the diff. between a 2003 and a 1990, as far as weight and hull design. My 1990 with procharged 502s dynoed @ 640, ran 94.6 on gps. Maybe if I got serious I could spend tons of money to dial it in better. Is the X higher?

Again, congrats on the performance. Any pics to post? I would love to see it.

Pull some of 'dem toys out and empty the tank.

Dano 04-11-2003 10:41 AM

Well if I took the AC, TV-DVD, head, blender ahhh....nah I like that stuff. Besides that is about as fast as I care to go in that length of fiberglass. Here is a side pic if it comes through.

Pure Energy 04-11-2003 02:09 PM

If you do not do everything in your power to break the 100 mph mark, I/We will be very dissapointed!!!!!!

dyno 04-11-2003 07:46 PM

Come on Candy Boy!!!!we want to see a 31ss over 100mph! hell I cant spend that kind of Cash someone needs to do it for me!

Dano 04-12-2003 03:02 PM

Dano,
Since I am restoring a 31SS, I would be interested in pictures of your boat, the interior & how/where you mounted/installed a/c!!
Where & how did you mount a genset? or is it just shorepowered unit? Curious....

George I have air in my 31 it mounts under the V-birth water pickup is in the bilge and discharges through a through hull fitting in the side of the boat.

Dyno,
Yup...blown formula you can mount where Dyno said or you can put it in the locker portside forward the sink. Let me see if this pic works...

Hmmm,
wrong pic let's try again.

dyno 05-07-2003 10:19 AM

Dano you break 100 yet?

Dano 05-07-2003 10:46 AM

Nope...haven't had a chance it's been raining ever since I pulled the stretchwrap off it. We lose a lot of speed running up here so I can't go for the biggie till next time were in S.Fla. Boat runs so much better there...oh wait er...that may just be me!

Saving those fun tickets now!
