Hey we are finally getting things straightened out on our boat. One thing I have noticed is that when we stay in the water for a four day weekend we have a bad water stain around the boat when we take it out. I have put a good coat of wax on her.The stains are so bad we have to use a product called ringo to get it off. Also on the to deck I have notice some dry looking places (NOT CHAULKING). The boat is a 1997 is it time for repaint or should the shine be lasting longer?

I have the same problem with the wetted surface staining after sitting in the water for a day or 2. I have to use "On Off", acid wash, to clean it.

There is a product called SLIMEY GRIMEY that will take that stain off the boat waterline and it is not as harsh as ON AND OFF. That stuff if you get it on you will eat you up. The SIMEY GRIMEY does not have a corrosive acid in it..Give it a try..Good luck....

I use FSR.

FSR is a blue gelly type cleaner... doesn't run off and on to you. works good too. Available from West or Boaters World.

I use the slimy grimy in one of those 2 gallon yard weed sprayer pump tanks, makes it easy to spray the boat down to get the yellow ring off. For the more stubborn stains, I use the on/off, it is wicked, have to use a brush to put it on because it eats the rubber washers that are in the sprayers. For surface scratches and deeper stains or black marks, I use this other stuff, can't remember the name... clear round tall bottle, liquid inside is white and you use a rag and rub it on..... fabulous stuff!!! I'll get the name of it..... On/Off is great for cleaning rusted parts, it eats everything away!!!

FSR is very mild, works quick with no scrubbing. Only good for the coffee type stain, not any growth or filth. You can touch it without burning your hands, at least it doesn't bother me.

i also had the dry looking spots on the deck

i used 3M restorer/wax and then starbrite wax w/ teflon, looked pretty good after i did it but it kept coming back bad if i didn't keep that up, i also think that is it much easier using a professional buffer, after i got one i wondered why i ever did the boat by hand

I use Black Streak Remover on my water line. It will take the brown filth off by just wiping with a towel. Not harsh at all.
