Nice boat...set-up very well. Any real gain with the throttle body mod from Arizona speed?

ash72201 09-02-2003 06:05 PM

yes dano it gave it about 2 mph more mid range and no black trnsom.

Dano 09-02-2003 07:20 PM

We've been using a custom set-up...about the same results I guess. What kind of speed are you seeing? Most have been seeing a very solid 77-80gps in FW with min. breakin time. Hitting low 80's in the better stuff (little better than that with no head or shore power). I do like how the ITS makes that hull ride and handle much better. To bad ya' can't jam about 800HP through that ITS...

GO4BROKE 09-02-2003 07:50 PM

Dano, you can...just not for long :p

Dano,

The 260 Prowler is one of the boats I am considering as I look for a new ride this fall. Can you tell me a little more about the improvements you noticed with ITS? Also would ITS benefit a 496 HO package versus the HP 500? My understanding is ITS consists of a Bravo XR, hydraulic steering, and 7" of setback. Can you save a few bucks by purchasing ITS versus those components separately?

Any insight would be appreciated.

David

dano

it will run on flat fresh water about 75-77 but as soon as you get a steady chop it runs 79-81 and it doesnt matter how many people or fuel ilove this boat it handles great, im up-grading to a 358. what props are you useing?

Dano 09-03-2003 09:56 AM

Go4broke....oh how I know!

David the setback helps the cg and puts the prop in cleaner water which helps with transom lift and to reduce the bow bounce which is somewhat inherent in that hull. Definitely the way to go, I'd look hard at Scott's boat. He has the set-up that I would recommend. As far as the HO's I'd go with the blue motors if at all possible.

Scott,
I think I saw you running that boat around the Ft.L boat show. Most 26's we set-up with the 26' P 4 blade Mercs w/custom lab for FW use. If you spin up the rev limiter to 5400RPM you will be pleasantly surprised...you have a couple more very inexpensive MPH's to be had.

There is a guy with a 575sci/superchilled 358 boat that is running a strong upper 80's here...very nice set-up for ocean running. I also have a guy thinking about building one w/Cobra 725's...that should be very interesting.
