Dyno,
Depends on HP...496 24P, 500 28P, 575 32P all 4 blade Merc configurations. I'd say those Mirage props are doing pretty well. Not sure where your rev. limiters are set but if you can tweak another 150-200rpm you should see 75+. If your running a 454/502 set-up I'd try a set of 24P and see if you can get at least 4800rpm stock, if so then lab to fit...should get you there. Go 4 Broke, With the shorties and the 32P's it was...the gear change with the smaller wheels was the ticket. I'm running 28P now and life is good! There is no substitute for an efficient prop... |
Thanks Dano! I'm running 330's on roids 9.5 to 1 merlin heads, intakes ,cams,800 holley's rockers you get the picture they make about 475hp we dynoed one of my buddies that are the same as mine and made 505 hp at 5600 with tubular exhaust I have EMI manifolds so 475 is a good guess. I was thinking the shorties with 4 blades would do the trick but you told me before not to waste my money so I'll look for more power the next set of mills. Thanks for the input on props.
