Winter covers for Sonics with an Arch??
 

How do you guys cover your boats that have an arch?

Over the arch with some sort of frame to support the front of the cover, OR do you cut the cover to go around the base of the arch and leave the arch uncovered?

does anyone make a full custom cover for the Sonic?

Thanks for the link Brian, but the boat is going to stay at the marina on the rack. They may be moving me to an indoor rack if a couple boats end up going to FLA......but if not, i'm gonna need a full cover. I asked them about the tent deal, and they would not let me do it.

I had a full cover made for my 42 Sonic that had cuts for the arch to go through. Had velcro on each piece so when it went around the arch it could be secured. I have seen another custom made cover that was made to fit the arch and all of the antennas, lights and radar, it attached to the full cover by snaps. Pretty expensive, looked cool and seems to have worked for the guy.

Don't have too much information on who did it for him. I had mine done by a local upholstery shop. Depending on the material it can be a VERY heavy cover to lift.

If you are just looking for a cover to keep it out of the elements, try an RV cover. You could build a frame and probably cover the boat with one of these:

I have a cover for my 42 that goes over the arch and snaps under the rub rail. The cover is pretty heavy duty and only use for the winter or if I,m away for sometime. In the winter I run nylon string from the front cleats over the arch and back to the handle above the ladder to create a canopy then run the cover over it.......Works great....
