generator on 358

does anyone have a generator on 35' sonic? is there room?

Re: generator on 358

I don't think there is any room to mount one anywhere. I carry a Honda 2000 watt along with me. It tucks right against the dropped bolster and takes up less room than a cooler. The 2000 will work everything, a/c, fridge, charger and the blender too! I strap it on the swim platform when in use. Works great.

I have the Honda E2000i, and store it in the head on my AT. It works great.

Yes a gen will fit in a 35 with no problem, in fact all of the boats built in recent time are actually prewired for them.

Where would you mount it? There is no way it will fit in the engine compartment.

I thought it was an available option.

Hi splashandburn.
Does the honda use much fuel? and when you store it
can you still move your seat up and down?
Are you going to the milk run this year ? Wipples?
I am the blue look a like to you we saw each other briefly
on Champlain. How about prop choice this year. I am thinking about
5 blades right now 28 bravos labbed .

Uhhhhh...I don't think so unless it's mounted on the swim platform

Hi Roadrunner,
The Honda uses very little fuel. It holds less than a 1/2 gallon and that will run for approx 8 hours on economy. You can move the bolster up and down with it there. I usually keep my seat down and it sits in tight against the back of it. We are definitely doing the Milk Run again this year - hope the weather's better. We'll be up there for the 4th too. I'm definitely going with the Hydromotive 5 blades this year - I'm running the 28 labs right now. No Whipples - got scared with eating up drives. I'm planning on new heads and some mild cam work very soon. Aren't you running 525's?

lKids are big into soccer and I hope to not have a conflict with the milk run .And I to hope it isn't as rough!!!

I've found the Yamaha EF2800i also works great and it also fits under the passenger drop down seat. Since it's a bit more powerful than the 2000's, it also runs a bunch of household stuff as well. Since I live in Florida, it came in handy with all the hurricanes we had this year.
