Weight of your sonics?
Related to the previous thread. I have a 2004 31 SS Sonic and have weighed it with full fuel, 5 gallons of water, plus gear ( tool kit, extra oil, lube, cold beer. My extras include TV/DVD, refrig, head, GPS, A/C and 2 Leggs Over Easy!
I was a bit surprised when it weighed in at $8,500 lbs? Anyone weigh their Sonic lately? I'm sure this is part of the reason besides the design why it handles so well in rough water. |
Re: Weight of your sonics?
I was told by Sonic our 386 is 9800lbs. I do not know if this is with a full tank of fuel or not.

Re: Weight of your sonics?
7280 lbs.
1999 26' Prowler HP500EFI FULL of all my gear, anchor, tools, full cover, full of fuel, on aluminum trailer, at the local recycling plant. |
Re: Weight of your sonics?
From what I was told by Bruce at Sonic last year was that the 31 pre F/X boats were listed at 7000 lbs. dry but they were actually much heaver. He said the newer boats would be around that 7000 lbs. or a little lighter, You add a 1000 lbs. of fuel and 500 lbs. misc. you have 8500.

Re: Weight of your sonics?

Re: Weight of your sonics?
I think its more like 7lbs.....I was told my 1993 31 weighs 7700lbs dry.I'll bet its more...

Re: Weight of your sonics?
Gas is 7 pounds, 140 gallons=980 pounds. Adds up fast.

Re: Weight of your sonics?
1995 35SS is 8400 pounds dry.
I was never bored enough to go the scales to weigh it loaded. |
Re: Weight of your sonics?

My 50 Nortech full gas full water all the crap 21,000#'s runs 98 MPH and I need better props hope to get 101 or so out of it. |
Re: Weight of your sonics?
Lapseofreason,
Was the 14,700 the boat or boat and trailer. |
Re: Weight of your sonics?
Off the trailer on new travel lift.

Re: Weight of your sonics?
The weight of gas varies depending on temp. The weight of 1 gal of gas at 72 degrees F is around 6.25 lbs. per gallon. Cooler temp = more dense gas = more wt. Higher temp. = less dense = less wt. So I guess the solution is to live in South where the weather is hotter thus less wt. for full tanks!!

Re: Weight of your sonics?
2004 Sonic Prowler F/X : 15 gal of gas, no water, no gear, and no stereo setting on a 26' Myco trailer. **6740lb.
Anyone have a idea of what the trailer might weigh??? |

Re: Weight of your sonics?
I've just learned that the weight increases proportionatly to the increase in road grade when towing up hill!!!!
I also learned that the weight of fuel decreases proportionatly to the increase in fuel prices. Findings... To counteract these affects, I need to buy a dock and a sailboat! NOT! |
