So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Inqiring minds want to know  :drink: ..............
Steve PS It's been pretty damn quiet in here! Are your computers all wormed/virused up or WHAT?????? EWB, this does NOT apply to you! Keep working on our stuff......we appreciate it :D ! |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
I know of at least 5 boats going, hopefully more. Im in for that trip for sure. I am working on getting about 10 slips at Aqua Yacht Harbor ( http://www.aquayachtharbor.com/ ) I have a contact that's helping us out. Not sure at what price, but we will get a decent deal.
I just recovered from out Luau as of yesterday, its been a long week after the shape I was in Saturday, if you look at the pictures on out site, you can definitely tell I was feeling no pain. In case anyone hasnt seen the site, check this out, http://www.pickwickchallenge.com/contact.htm |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Matt,
So far we have: You, me, Rick H, Eric B.......who else? By the way our slips are open. I would prefer covered. You want to run down there and check it out? Might not be a bad idea. It's going to be a fun, long weekend, and I would like it to go smoothly. Steve |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????

Later, evan Hobgood |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Yep, I'm in too. Staying at the cabin with EWB,Todd Mays and about 20+ other people. Not sure on the docks yet but I'm all about a covered slip too. I will make a decision this weekend on that.
I will be talking with Todd and Melissa Mays this weekend to pay them for the cabin. For anyone who is staying at the cabin we need to pay Todd or Melissa it this weekend!!!!! |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
I'm in! Have a room at the Hampton but waiting to hear about the slips. Covered would be nice.
|
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Im working on this, I'll let you guys know when I have something...Thanks!
Matt |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Brian and I are in, as long as the boat is fixed. We hit a freaking log in the lake last saturday and blew the outdrive off. If it wouldn't have been for a buddy running beside us, the boat would be on the bottom of the lake. I will be Miss Paranoid now!!! Scared me to death. But, as long as things go as planned we should be able to make it. Everyone knows how marine repairs sometimes get out of hand.....as long as we don't encounter any problems! :(

Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Gameover1stmate:
I heard about your mishap from Matt Sunday night at the ramp. Wow, I'm sure glad you guys are OK. The lake was very trashy Saturday. Sunday it was almost back to clear. We were at Skinny Dip most of the day Saturday. I guess that's why we didn't see you? Where were you guys when it happened? Best Regards, Steve |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
GameOver1stmate;
sorry about your drive. That really bites! Let us know how we can help. |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
We were about at Old Hickory Boat Dock....running to Anchor High to get something to eat. Obviously, we didn't make it. Everything is flowing smoothly with the insurance process, so hopefully we'll be back floating soon.
|
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Again,
We're all sorry to hear about your bad luck. Who's doing the repairs? I know a guy  that I would HIGHLY recommend (EWB). PS I heard that Priest was trashed up last weekend too. Regards, Steve |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Whats Up,
Tracey and I are going as well. We plan on leaving early Fri. Morning for the drive down. See you there! Mitch |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????

Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Hey Mitch,
I thought when i asked you guys the other weekend you said you weren't going to come down for it. I hope you do . Bring the rest of the crew with you. See you at pick wick. Everyone is going to meet in nashville to convoy down, I'll give you the updates as to where as they come... Evan |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Steve, I need you to help me finalize some plans on what day/time etc we need to leave that weekend. Also need to know from everyone what they want to do about watching this race. It doesnt look like the view is going to be good from the water, so we need to plan something there.
Also, is anyone planning on running in the Pickwick Challenge Fun Run? We do have slips, but we dont have confirmed COVERED slips. I am only aware of 10-12 boaters wanting to go, and time is getting short. Neeing some help here... Thanks, Matt |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Matt:
We plan to leave MJ/OH at 8:00 Friday morning. I figure 3 hours towing. The easiest route is I-40 west to exit 108/Hwy 22 (Lexington), then south on Hwy 22 to Counce. I plan to take Thursday off to get everything ready. Since we're staying in the cabin, open slips are OK by us, so we are good to go. Sorry we missed your crawfish boil. I got a bad Arby's Friday (mom always said don't eat green meat  ), and it put a damper on my weekend festivities :( ................ Regards, Steve |

The lack of rooms really hurt everyones intrest. We are going to stay on the Boat so it really didn't bother us. Mitch |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Hey El Vice Presidente',
Whats the plan for friday morning. I think i am going to come down early thursday to get a couple of the fellow members boats buffed out for em. Let us know the game plan for friday so i can let the kentucky MCPA members know where to meet us for the convoy down.... :evilb: |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Who's in for the 6:00 departure time from the "south side" (MJ/Hermitage/Old Hickory)?
Where do we meet up????? How about the parking lot beside O' Charley's Hermitage. The Kroger is there for beer/drinks/food if anybody needs some last minute stuff. There 2 gas stations nearby if anyone needs fuel. Other ideas welcome............. This going to be too much fun. Let's hope the weatherman is cooperative :) .....right now Friday looks awesome, mid 80s, partly cloudy. Saturday looks like isolated t-storms. Sunday? Steve |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
One of the things discussed at the meeting Friday was departure times for going down. It looks like everyone wants to avoid traffic in Nashvegas Friday morning, so we have two times that we will meet and convoy down.
The early birds will meet at the Dickson exit at Cracker Barrel,(I believe its Exit #172) at 7:00 AM. That will get everyone out of Nashville before the traffic hits. The second group will meet at the same place at 11:00 AM, this will allow me to sleep and let everyone get to work before coming through Nashville. If anyone wants to meet up prior to Dickson like Steve is suggesting, plan it now so everyone is on the same sheet of music. Everyone that is working the race be sure to get in touch with Karen Patterson if you havent gotten an email from her already. Her number is 832-233-3095. She is the OSS event coordinator for us working and hass all of our passes, shirts etc. Its important that she talk to all of us. If anyone has any other questions, give me a call 615-207-8492. Thanks, Matt PS....Evan youre more than welcome to stay here with us, but your beyotch has to stay outside with the dogs!!! :D :D :evilb: |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
I'm kinda up for running down with steve at 6:00 to get this party started early.Who else wants in on this early bird club? Thanks for the offer Matt, we will take you up on that, Should be there on thursday night around 6:00 pm, in time for you to fix me dinner and get Kathy moved in to the dog pound.(God i hope she doesn't see this) :D
|
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
I HOPE SHE DOESNT SEE IT ALSO!!!!!!!!!! :D :D
Actually, I think almost everyone but Rob and I are going down early. You guys should have about 10-12 boats in the early morning run. Thats going to be a cool looking convoy!!! |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
It looks like I will be getting up early and sleep drive to Pickwick. I know I will not make it to Dickson by 7 am but should not be too far behind them. I think Matt will be a little behind on the 11 am time and that is too late for me. I want to boat some Friday!

Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Rob,
We'll save a seat for you at Cracker Barrel :D ................... Steve |

Wow,
What a road trip. I think everybody had a large time.......I know Butch and I did :drink: . Thanks to Melissa and Todd for organizing the cabin deal. That's my kind of roughing it. Oh yeah, I picked out my next boat over the weekend. Just have to run it by the bank and the boss lady  .......... Regards, Steve |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Hate to burst your bubble Steve, but they sold it while you were there. A guy from St. Louis bought it and I saw it run twice....what a machine!!! It ran 160mph on Saturday and they were going to shoot for about 170mph on Sunday. I spoke with the MTI crew that was there and Im trying to talk the guy that bought it into coming down for Haulin on Old Hickory. I was hoping for a Nor-tech vs. MTI shoot out.......
:D :D |
Re: So Who's Going To Oss/pickwick????
Oh well, the bank and the boss both said NO  ..........
I thought it was pretty resonable  : 20% down-$240,000, payments for 15 years-$5,800 per month...........that doesn't cover maintenance, fuel ($6.00 per gallon), storage, insurance, new dually, etc, etc............ They're practically GIVING it away  ..................... Steve |
