Area Boat Shows/Dates
 

Hi Guys:
Looks like it's almost time to wander the aisles at the boat shows again.
The Nashville show is January 11-15. Unfortunately, unless Pier 57 or Lake Cumberland shows up with some toys, this will be nothing but jet skis, ski boats, bass boats, houseboats, and cruisers. Nice boats, but nothing to get your blood pumping :( ......................
The Atlanta show falls on the same dates. I went a couple of years ago and was dissapointed that such a large show had so few high perf boats/dealers. There were a few cool Velocitys being shown by a dealer from SC.
The Louisville show is January 28 through February 5th. This show had some awesome boats last year, and I hear from one dealer that it will again. I'm planning a road trip.......anyone else in? A bunch of us met for breakfast and went last year. I think everyone had a good time.

I would love to go. I may be in a position to buy a bigger boat. I wrecked my truck ($8,500 worth of damage) a few weeks ago. Got hit from behind while I was at a stop light. Lady said, "i don't know what I was looking at".
Seriously, I would like to go. I went to the LA boat show last Jan. It was awesome.

This is funny Steve. I just got off the phone with Alan Waddle an hour ago asking about the Atlanta Boat Show. I was thinking about trying that one this year but it sounds like it is not very good. Louisville is sounding better. I just want to go somewhere that has a bunch to look at. We'll see.

What about Birmingham or Huntsville? I think the owner of Nelms Marina ( Big Formula Dealer) told me one of those is big with lots of Performance boats. Any ideas?

The Nordic dealer from Jamestown, Unlimited Performance Marine, says he will have 2 28s, and a 25 at the Louisville show. Lake Cumberland was there last year with some very nice stuff including XXX, a 42' Fountain with 1075 Mercs, a Cigarette with triple 525s, and a 388 Hustler with Vipers. UPM had the prettiest 35' Nordic (TOAD paint, also with Vipers) that I've ever seen. It's the one that was in all the mags this year, including the cover of Powerboat.
I'll be in Vegas on business the week after the LA show. I was thinking about flying directly to LAX to see the LA show, and then back over to Vegas.

I'm game for any of them, but it would be nice to see if there are some HP boats there before making the trip! Does Pier 57 show anywhere? You would think one of the above, or Memphis?

I did see Lake Cumberland is signed up for Nashville. I do not know how to find out because I do not know the boat dealers names by what they sell. I guess I can just call around.

Depending on the work schedule I may be up for a road trip to Louisville. I am assuming that the show will be at the state fairgrounds/Freedom Hall, right?

I have been to the street rod show and swap meet up there several times and it is not a bad drive at all.

Nashville Convention Center. Just across the street from Gaylord Entertainment Center where the Predators play. It is part of the hotel and there is a parking garage off Commerce street across from the hotel.

You are right. Lake Cumberland (I think for the 1st time) is on the exhibitor list for the Nashville Show :D ......................
It may not be a big snooze as it has been the last few years.
I've also been seeing billboards around town featuring Bruce's boat. Is that something to do with the car show at the Fairgrounds 1-14/15? Other boats on display too?

I called "Baldi" about those billboards a week ago and he knows nothing. He may know something now. Tim did tell me Lake Cumberland "retracted" from the Nashville boat show.

Made it to Nashville, but on the drive there I heard the show sucked, so didn't even go. Maybe Louisville will be better.

Steve, post here a list of people you know are going, what time you're leaving etc.....Try editing your first post in this thread with the list of FOR SURE people. Maybe some more will see the list and want to go! I will start another thread for the B'ham show.

Taking the boat to be painted tomorrow(Fri). Should be ready in 7 weeks. :p

I still want to go to the Birmingham show and also back on for the Louisville show. Birmingham will have lots of Formulas and some Sunsations and that's why I want to go there. From the web sites of both, the Louisville show seems to have more square feet and vendors so I'm back on for that show. I will call a few people to see if we can get a few vehicles full.

I called a friend of mine in L'Ville and Kroger has $6 tickets. Normally, $8. There is a Kroger close to the show.

Stopped by the Lousiville show Tuesday night.
Looked at a couple of Outerlimits, a 399V Skater, 47' and 29' Foutains, 25' and 28' Nordics, and a 353(?) Formula with a very slick paint job.
I'll try to load some pictures, but I shot them with my new 6meg camera, and they will probably be too big :mad: ......
Stopped by EWB's new shop last night. Our main wrench is now working out of a very nice shop.

Anybody headed for Miami? Supposed to be some smokin' hot new rides (NorTech/MTI/etc), and some big engine/drive introductions from Mercury.
If you go, have a cold one for me :drink: ..........and take some pictures :D .

I am going to Miami for the poker run, not the boat show. A friend and myself are heading down with his 47' Fountain leaving pickwick next Wed. I'll definitely take some pictures.

When is the next meeting? I am finally settled in here in nashville and want to meet up with everyone and join if you'll have me.
