Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Greetings,
Just a note to let you know we are still looking for volunteers for saturday and sunday. If you think you might want to work the patrol, give me a call or email me. The course will be clear except for the spectator line which was at turn one last year. If you are not on the patrol, you will be at the spectator line. Come work and get the best seats in the house!! Things are really looking great for this event, see you all soon! KP |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Karen,
I'll need to change my boat registration info. I've got a new (2004) 28' I'm bringing instead of the Baja. Should I just wait until Friday to chamge the paperwork? Looking forward to the race!! Ken |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Do me a favor and shoot me an email with the new info on the boat. Swim platform and make etc.
Have you all checked out the course,,,,, its on the event site and we have 7 turns,,,,, gonna be a good one! KP |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
KP,
It's a 2004, 28' Challenger Offshore w/twin small blocks. It does have a small swim platform. Just a tad different than my 20' Baja. I'll fax (email) you the serial #'s in the morning. I don't have that info with me today. I'm insured with State Farm in Hendersonville, TN. Still waiting on ins. card. Ken |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Thanks for the update, can't wait to see it.
We can change the paperwork in Pickwick. KP |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Ken, are you leaving around noonish on Friday. That is when me and Paul are trailering. I think Chris B. is leaving when he gets off work early in the morning and I'm not sure when Burdette and Gaford are leaving. What about Dean and Evan? When will they leave Paducha?

We will be at a meeting around 5 for boat patrol then going to Freddie T's I guess. When we get there we will put the boats in at state park then may visit Peir 57 until the meeting.

Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Rob,
I'm going to pick up the boat Friday(5th) am in Murray(going to spend Thurs night there. Having a bimini top(not finished yet) made for it and I'm on vacation next week (FL. back on the 29th). I'll prob. leave Murray mid-day if all goes as planned. I hope to be in PW around 2ish. Long story short...trailer had no brakes so I had to have them worked on this week. Ryan was kind enough to store the boat there(Murray) while I am in FL. BTW. Going to stop by the 'chain of lakes' PW this Sun. My niece lives right near the lake. I drive right by the Velocity plant to get to her house. Hmmmm. Did someone say 'field trip'? See you all in two weeks. |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
OK Ken. I guess you can travel with the KY crew to PW. Have a safe trip and we will see you there.

Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Since my cabin had a 3 night minimum, I'm leaving Thursday afternoon. I ran into RB Hixson (42' Fountain) at the lake yesterday, and he wants to leave then too, so we're going to try to beat the rush hour traffic out around 3:00.
Let us know if any of you guys want to convoy over with us. Regards, Steve |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Rhett may be out of town that weekend. Bald Head's boat not ready but I tried to get him to haul "Mega Yacht" down for the heck of it. He says he would but has no place to stay, BS!

Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Sounds like a plan! Remember to call me when you get to Pickwidk so I can meet you with credentials and get the boats in, trailers stored, T-shirts handed out! If you get to the Part entrance just give them my name, they will get me via radio.
The Patrol meeting is after the Drver meeting on friday evening around 6:30 ish. Pickwick Inn. Sounds like you have a good contingent coming. Be careful. KP |

Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Hi Guys,
I haven't been on in a long time. Jamie and I are bringing "Likitty Split" down for the races. Steve, can you e-mail me the person I need to talk to about getting a slip for Saturday. We're leaving Friday afternoon to get down their and staying at the Hampton Inn. If anybody else is staying there, let me know. Looking forward to a good time. Flenner P.S. Who is going to Kentucky Lake for the Poker Run? I don't care if gas is going to put me in the poor house. The boat is running good and I want to play. |

Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
CHRIS,
talk to jason at grand harbor marina, and tell him Evan Hobgood told you to talk to him about a slip, and he will hook you up. You might be closer to the kentucky crew than the nashvegas crew but at least it's a slip. |
Re: Primed and Pumped for Pickwick
Flenner,
I'm going May 20th and I think Tim B. and his neighbor Paul Harrod is too. Tim is knee deep in gimbles right now but should be done in time. So far I have not talked to anyone else that is for sure going. Rob |
