Fun Run questions from out of towners

Hey gang, have a couple of questions regarding the fun run.

1) We are planning on leaving Knoxville very early Saturday to get to the run, I understand the driver's meeting is at 9:45 Central time, Should we just come straight to the marina, do the meeting, then go launch the boat? I am worried we might hit bad traffic and not be on time for the meeting.

2) Where does everyone launch from?

Thanks, for any help, I have never boated in the area, and not very familiar with it.

Haulinvols,
We leave Anchor High Marina #13.
I would launch at Rockland Recreation Area #1, right next to Anchor High.
Regards,
Steve

Using Mapquest, type in 5 Power Plant Road, Hendersonville, Tn. 37075 (Army Corps. Office). This will take you right to the ramp. Driving time is most likely 3 hours (with time change). Hope this helps. Ken

Wow Ken that's nice of you to have us over dinner!! What happened to you Sunday?

Haulinvoles, you will be better off to launch the boat first then idle over to registration. We will have plenty of boats so following will not be a problem. Our stops are not "hidden" so finding them will be easy. Make sure you have time to stay for the party that evening!!!!

Mitch. No problem. I have a 'spare' 4 bedroom house.Just bring your sleeping bags as I only have one queen bed to lend.
S & L will be ready around 6ish. :evilb: :drink:
Rob-Sunday?? Did not get out until 4:30 with my neice's 2 kids. Did I miss something? What's going on this weekend? Nothing posted so far.
Haulin'-the ramp is right across the inlet from the starting point. Rob is right. Plan on staying the night. I plan on coming over the next weekend for you alls PR. Can you point me in the right direction as to where to stay? Plan on coming over on Friday. Have a safe and happy 4th.--Ken

You just missed the trip up river to Gallatin Marina for lunch. None of us got up early enough for breakfast. I will start a new thread for this weekend.

Had to go take care of my Dad anyway in the am. That's why I did not get out until late. Going to make up for it this weekend. :evilb:

Well, fate strikes again. We tried to go to your fun run last year and I had to work, this year it looks like I am going to be stuck in Knoxville again. I hope you guys have a safe weekend and good weather. Maybe I will make it next year, you know what they say, three times the charm.
