Steve,

I didn't see your post until this morning, sorry I missed you. There will be another meeting held at Galatin City Hall on 02-25-07 @6:30pm.

Here is a link to the website with info regarding Wolf Creek Dam. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/pao/issues/wolcommo

A couple of things that really stood out:

There are only 5 of the 48 boat ramps still usable, 923 of the 1420 boat slips still usable

There will be an estimated $23 billion impact on the local economy. That's the worst part is wondering if some of the local small business can survive. I agree saftey and avoiding a disaster is the number one priority but sure makes you feel for the local business community.

Paul,
$hitty news, but thanks for the update none the less. This doesn't bode well for Summer 07 events on Cumberland:( ......I have a friend who drove over the dam, and was working around Somerset today. He said they are working on the dam, but he couldn't believe how low the lake is.
Regards,
Steve

The truth about the ramps now is that it is questionable that anyone can put more than a fishing boat in LC. I looked at the lake last friday and it is much worse than I thought it would be. There will be a big impact on the economy. Hopefully progress on the dam stabilization will go fast. Attempts to remove houseboats have failed.

So is this a winter pool? Are they going to raise it any at all for the summer? I thought the first thing that i'd heard was that it would be around 40' lower than normal, but I'm not familiar with their winter's and summer's.

Looks like 76 Falls is going to have a hell of a beach this year!
