Karen,

Can you give us some details about stagging our boats. Water and Electricity available? Are there secure areas at Marinas or yards for us to overnight? What about ramps near the course?

Thanks

There is a secure ramp under the kemah bridge which is 400 yards from the bay. Patrolled by a cop every few mins.

They're still working out some of the details. There will be places to keep boats, trailers, etc. Keep checking attached for info.

Where is Clear Lake from Austin?

THLWL 03-14-2008 09:49 AM

Clear Lake is just southeast from Houston. About 4 hours from Austin pulling a boat. Take HWY 71 south to I10 east. Go to Houston. Go south on BW 8 west and take it around to Clear Lake. It's near NASA.

BW 8? How about I-10 to I-610 to I-45 South?

that would allow you to avoid the tolls.

Exactly! :D

gerritm 03-14-2008 01:52 PM

Here's a better way. Stay off 45 through the city, it is a traffic mess, especially hauling a boat. Take I-10 to 610S or east to 225 east to 146 south or I-10 to 146 south to Kemah. Brings you right into Kemah.

Thanks Mark, we have a house to stay at crystal beach, just didnt know if it would be very convenient. have never been in the bay. I think we would put in at a ramp close to stingaree. Rick

I'm not sure yet where we will be rafted up. We have a pretty big crew coming from Conroe. I most probably will be rafted off to a 30' luhrs.

I'm dealing with a starter issue right now so won't be out this weekend or the next 2 after that(damn bachelor party and a wedding:D:D) But will be out the 26th. Give me a shout closer to the Shootout and also poke your head in on the BS thread in the TOPPS section. I'll pm you my number. Stop me if you see me running around.I'm in a 21' yellow and red Scarab usually at wfo:)

THLWL 04-04-2008 08:07 PM

If y'all see me tied up somewhere or out at Red Fish floating, stop by and say hi. I'm easy to find - the only Black Thunder in Texas and it's orange! Tommy

It looks like the engines won't be complete in time for the run.
We wanted to raft off and watch, but....:musik010:

Agreed, but of course, I'm a little biased.:D Hopefully they will get the dates sorted out for next year. I would love to attend both but can't be in two places at one time.
