Trailer Question - Need One
I posted this in the TOPPS section, but no help there.
I am looking at purchasing an Aluminum trailer. I have found a company in Houston called Instigator Trailers that can build an aluminum, bolted (not welded) 3 axle (2 disk brakes) for about $5200. Has anyone ever hear of them or have any feedback. Also, I am open to other trailer companies. http://www.instigatortrailers.com/default.asp |
Make sure that this is not the old TechSun guys. They sucked to deal with.

Check out EZ Loader, nice trailer for the $$, go with the Aluminum bunks.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to find someone in Texas for convenience and not have to deal with delievery fees.
TxHawk - what was the deal with the SunTech guys? Who should I keep an eye out for name wise? |
Call Mcclain Trailers out of Houston. (713) area code. Not the sexiest but good quality.
I have only bought one trailer from them (trip axle, alum, bolt together, elec over hydrualic brakes for a 30ft go-fast). Their customer service has been outstanding for the wearble parts (straps, bow stop, lights,,etc)... Previously, I have only had experience with welded steel trailers for 2 step hulls (Eagle) and the Mcclain is very high quality for the $$. So far I have been impressed. If you choose to work with them make sure you get the bunk configuration you want... I prefer the 2 long keel bunks from the middle to the bow of the boat for easiest loading- especially by yourself. Regardless of where you purchase- make sure any manufacturer puts the brake actuator as close to the hitch as possible. This comes in very handy on shallow lake ramps that force you to back in very deep to launch. I learned that trick the hard way... Just my .02$ :drink: |
Thanks Bronco. I have been in touch with McClain. Good to know about the brake actuator.

Also do a google search for the nearest Venture Trailer dealer in your area. They are aluminum I-beam bolt together with very aggressive prices.
