I was there and raced in it. I run in Top Eliminater class (9.000 index). I went out in semi finals, but 3rd round win was enough for me to win SDBA Championship. I love the drag boats and my offshore boat.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:[QUOTE=Busta;3186996]Let me guess, you're still working on that white paint job!
You probably won't believe it but I am actually painting graphics on my Suburban as we speak and the boat will be painted to match. Who da thunk it?? :D |
The lights are easy, but you do get better with time. On the boat I drove this year I would flip the switch for bucket on 7 and stab the foot throttle on 6. Unausited points were posted toady and I am showing to be #1 by only 120 pts.

Congrats again on your Championship win. Do you have any pics of your boat that you can post? Also, I am curious if there is any place that you know of to go to practice running the lights other than a sanctioned race? It would be nice to get some trial runs in before the actual race.

Go to www.dragboatphoto.com for pics. Click Marble Falls 2010. I am in photos 131, 132, 210, 211, and 406. There is nowhere I know of to pratice at. Just test and tune at certain races. We are gonna do world finals in Phoenix in Nov. Gonna go back a defend our 2009 title.

Cool pictures, used to go to the drag boat races on town lake in Austin. They ran just down river of the I 35 bridge. Boy, that was a long time ago.

My dads boats used to race at Town Lake. That was alittle before my time, but I am following in his steps for the need for spped on water no matter what size boat is. Thanks !! JLG

I remember watching you run and commenting on how good it ran, especially for a jet. It was definitely impressive. Good luck in the finals.

Funny thang is that it is on chip the whole way down. This motor is a 540 CI Blown Alcohol. Last year we won Championship and World Finals w/ a single Carb 615 CI Big Chief motor. It mad 1200 HP @ 7200 and to run a 9.000 was turning motor only 6650 rpm. It also was on chip whole way. We had all those blown alky motor guys scratching there heads.
