PokerRun388 04-03-2011 01:18 PM

Why is it called Tickfaw? and when is it...?

Ptufaro 04-03-2011 08:40 PM

It's the name of the river where the run starts and ends.
It was 200 mile run to make all the stops
Now I'm not sure how long exactly but its alot of water to cover in one day.

A buddy did it on google earth 142 miles the way the crow flys not the way a boat drives. So add the curves and what not to that. 142 miles pluse all the stops is the reason its 2 day run if you want it to be. 2 days should make it very nice and less congested at some of the stops and more time to hang out at them. Hope everyone enjoys it!

It's a long day to do the old run before katrina.I think this run may be a little shorter. It is still a lot of riding.I'll be out there.Whats up Casey?

Actually longer now. Pre-Katrina didn't include running up Diversion to Tiki Hut. Only thing not on the list from the old days is the Mandeville stop.

Thats such a long run compared to desert storm.... Thats why im suprised so many boaters go to havasu bcuz its only 20 or so miles.... compared to 140+mi here... unreal...

Seems like a great run...!!! i wish i was there.....

That was the disappointing part of Havasu for me, and the water was too cold. Thank God for the scenery though:eek:

yea but you really have to keep your eyes peeled for crab pots

Ptufaro 04-18-2011 09:35 AM

They do always seem to follow the same path I am on.
I bet they loose a noticeable amount of traps after a run like the 200

Same here. Always seem to end up playing slalom, especially in Maurepas near Manchac.

Ptufaro 04-18-2011 09:38 PM

Lake's and yes they are every where

JLAY 04-19-2011 10:30 AM

When I was in high school we used to kneeboard every weekend and once got a trap stuck in the prop. Holy $hit! It looked like a metal birdnest. I think it took us about 2 hours with some dikes (the tool not women:drink:) to finally cut it off. It is funny now, but not back then when i had to go back to my dad and explain what happened to the prop. (my dad is 6'5" and about 250)

PokerRun388 04-19-2011 08:20 PM

what happens if u dont see em in time? Do u just run through em..?
