Texas fuel taxes

I was told we can get the road tax back from the fuel we have bought for the boat......anyone doing this? if so, how do i go about starting the paperwork? I have kept many of the fuel receipts from the past few months i have owned the boat. Thanks!

Yes I send my receipts in every year.
web site www.window.state.tx.us/taxinfo/fuels
and down download forms. I think that is right site.
Make sure you wright boat gas on the receipt or they will kick it out.

ok, i will look at it. thanks. do you get a decent amount back from this? Obviously it depends on how much you spend, but is it worth the time and effort?

Yeah I think it can be significant if you boat a lot.

Sucks that my fuel is "tax" free... I wonder how that would work, if at all, since I buy my fuel on post.

I wonder if Washington has the same rules?

I was under the impression that you could not do this in TX?

I did it a couple of times and received a check back.

what's the process? How do you go about submitting these in? Is there a limit?
