Who would you guys recommend for boat survey around Galveston area??

I used Drake Epple at Perry’s Marine Survey Co. 281-474-5273 when I was buying my Sunsation in Kemah.

I was happy with the survey, advice and report.

Kinda. We did a test run with the Arneson drives 2 weeks ago and it did not go very well. The hydraulic steering was leaking fluid all over the place and the pump ran almost dry. The pump got air in the lines and it was making a noise and I could smell something burning. Also, we had a carb gas leak. No fire. We got up on plane, turned around and put the boat back on the trailer. The hydraulic steering is suppose to be fixed, but you can't really test it until we get the other carb. You need dual pumps so if you lose an engine you can still steer. We are waiting on carb to get fixed. I will need new props for sure. Prop slip was terrible (over 30%). This was no surprise, as I was told this would happen with these small props. The 16 1/2 inch 4 Blade cleavers are not big enough. I need 18 inch Diameter 4 blades or 5 blades. Maybe 17.5 inch Diameter at a minimum. When we punched it to 4500rpm for about 7 seconds, the rooster was amazing. I hope to do a test run this Saturday. We are going to try some 16 1/2 inch 5 blade 34 pitch cleavers that is sitting around the shop. I think it is still going to be too small of diameter, but we should get better results from the 4 blades.
