Lake pontchartrain

Minimum size boat for this lake? Boating on tickfaw, lake maurepas with 24' boat. Like to maybe head across pontchrtrain, but a little concerned about weather. Maurepas can be rough at times, but handled it ok. Does anyone cross pontchartrain besides during the tickfaw 200? Would 29', such as baja or formula 292 be adequate?

yes, definitely. It does kick up quick so sometimes you just gotta ride it out.

You mainly just have to watch the weather. We run to Madisonville often from the Tickfaw. Evey now and then we will make the run over to New Orleans. It's a lot of fun.
I live in Central too. Maybe we can mKe the run together sometimes. Let me know..

I cross Lake Maurepas on a jet ski all the time. Your 24 foot boat should be fine for Lake Maurepas and Ponchatrain. Like other members said, keep an eye on the weather. That goes for everyone
