Lake Cumberland boaters, thinking of moving there.
Retirement is approaching and down sizing and getting the heck out of Maryland. I have always liked Kentucky. I already own some land in Kentucky but its near Richmond. I am going to bring my 35 with me and I was thinking about the Lake Cumberland area. So any info both about boating the lake and living near the surrounding area. ie areas that are nice, not so nice. Land/acerage is a must and the house not so much. I am thinking about building. Believe it or not I do not want waterfront. Thanks

I've never lived there, but the boating is great at Cumberland. There are also a lot of boating resources there, as well. ...mechanics, paint guys, etc. If it was about an hour closer, we'd boat there every weekend.

That's my retirement plan too. Love it there.

I'm there almost every weekend from Cincinnati . Boating is awesome. Jamestown Russel springs area is nice.

That is my plan,i have a little farm in Eubank (north of Somerset).
I like the Monticello area (south side of lake) but Somerset has the most amenities. There are a lot nice houses just north of Somerset. |
Do they have houses with docks on the lake? I did a zillow search, but it's pretty thin pickens.
