East Texas lakes

coming from central Louisiana, what area would be best to spend a couple days with the boat? Conroe or Kemah are two places I’m considering.

If you want to run a lot of miles I would come down to Kemah, you will cover all of Conroe in half a day

+1 on Kemah. I do like Lake Conroe, not the biggest lake, but it's got some neat stuff. The southern 1/3 has bulkheads and lots of development on the shoreline, which is nice if you want to eat out or even stop by the pharmacy (CVS waterside). You can get pretty much everything you need by water. The northern part is really neat with the Sam Houston national park, the brush is so think it grows out into the lake. When the north Texas lakes flood I like to make a trip to Conroe.

To run miles at kemah,is this going out to gulf? Went to kemah few years back to look at boat, while at park saw many boats coming and going. After looking on google maps, where are they going?

It’s 25-30 miles to the gulf, there are some restaurants scattered around the bay complex

For someone to spend a day out, with decent running time, what would be good destinations?
