Peanut Island Sat Jan 12
A bunch of folks have booked the island for the weekend with a Saturday night stay. I'm planning on being there for the day Saturday so if anyone else is around, come on out.
What's the ICW like this time of year, say north of Boynton Inlet? Are there lots of manatee zones or can we get up and run on plane? I'm trailering from Pompano and would like to run part way instead of just launching at Blue Heron. I've never run north of Two Georges/Banana Boat and would be open to ramp suggestions. |
I would run the ocean from boynton to lake worh/palm beach inlet. That inlet is right there at peanut island. You have to be carefull if you take intercoastal there are sand bars. Make sure you stay in the channel!!!

I am going to try to make it, if ya wanna take the inside, we can meet in Delray and launch there, or from Boynton. You can run North of Bananna Boat, there are a few slow zones, but not bad. All depends if I get the boat back, and the batteries rerigged by then.

Went up the ICW on Sunday not a bad ride, some zones the one too lookout for is from Lantana bridge for 3/4's of a mile north. We rode up to North Palm Beach then back to the Bananna boat for lunch.

From the 17th Street Bridge in Port Everglades to Lake Worth it is five hours on the ICW! It may even be slower on a Saturday.
On the outside it is about one hour (about 50SM) depending upon the sea state. |
