Where to flush motors in Florida?

I'm hoping to get to florida and put my boat in the salt water for the first time. How quickly do I need to flush? Will I find water at the launch? I also have a 60 gal water tank with 12v. pump. Should I be prepared with my own water? And will 60 gal. be enough to do both motors and trailer brakes? Thanks

Where exactly are you going in Florida? Some launch sites have water, need to bring own hose. Or you cans top by a fresh water lake and dunk it. I have backed boat in along alligator alley (I-75 from FTL to Naples) on way home from keys. If you have steel painted trailer nothing will beat a fresh water submersion to get salt outta places hose cant reach.

Agree with HH. Dunk it if you can, if not rinse as soon as possible. When I put in and if ramp and pace permits I rinse the trailer down right after I launch the boat. I tie up and do a quick rinse before I park. That can't happen all the time, but when I can I do. Sooner the better in all cases.

You could run the boat for a month in salt water and never know it when you get home. Flush after using the boat but two hours isn't going to rot the motor off the transom.

Now a steel trailer is a different story particularly if it is old to begin with (rot already started due to time).

Brain Fart... Not sure why I never thought of dunking. Thanks for your tips.
