Might go, depends on weather. We are pretty close (St. Pete). Went last year for first time by water and actually had a good time, way more fun then i thought. Stayed sorta on outskirts away from drunkfest and left right as it was ending to stay out of the mad exit of drunk boaters.

KR1276- is the Marriot on the water and do they have wet slips? we used to stay at Marjorie park but can't get in and looking for a new place to start and end the day at.

The waterway does get a bit interesting. The below is before everyone turned up the channel to the convention center. As soon as I can find it I'll post the picture from a few years ago of a guy trying to fish from a john boat in the middle of the channel- he had quite a suprise when the fleet came around the corner....Gasparilla-gasparilla-2006-038.jpg

Nice looking place, we'll check it out some weekend. The day of Gasparilla we won't venture too far from the boat. We'll be on a friend's boat docked at the convention center.

Now really is there a beer named Urethel Hop-It? Hmmm maybe afterwards...

Anyone running over from the other side of the bay? I'm thinking about making the run over.

Although I live in St. Pete , I think we will launch at the Gandy ramp (TPA side) and run around the point, little easier if wind picks up fro the easy late in the day/night.

I thought about that but figured that would be pretty crowded. I haven't used that ramp before and wasn't sure about the parking. I know Ft Desoto has plenty of parking.
