South Beach boat docking

does anyone know if there is a free place to tie up on South Beach, Miami? i am planning on moving to Miami and would rather use my boat, than car , to visit the island.

You will pay $20 bucks at Monty's just to drop off/pick up people. Nothing will be free in SoBe.
