Lake Lanier
 

I am from KY and boating season doestn't really start until late May. I have some family that leaves near Lake Lanier and thought about taking a trip down before the season here starts. Any good events / poker runs before May? How's the weather usually?

It usually starts around may. Only poker run is in july. Before may the water is still pretty cold and not many out on the water. We would usually head out in march and it was lonely.

It's a flip of the coin here on the lake. It could be warm or cold. We're going to need some good Winter and Spring rain to get the lake back full.

Thanks guys. I still hit the lake in september and october hear but it's dead after labor day. Is it like that there?

Kind of, we stayed until nov weather permitting but yes it gets pretty thin. Since I bought a place down in siesta key I haven't been on the lake in 2 years. It's 82 today!
