Default Moving to Fort Lauderdale

Hey guys. I may be taking a new job in Fort Lauderdale and moving from Atlanta. Raises a few questions ...

I have a 32' sunsation and all my boating has been fresh water on Lake Lanier in Atlanta. It's been awhile since I've been boating in salt water. What are the normal maintenance recommendations for the boat? Engines - 496HOs?

And for anyone in Fort Lauderdale ... recommendation on where to store it? Local hang outs?

Thanks!
JP

Flush it well, and use a corrosion block on certain parts. Where in lauderdale? I prefer Palm beach and Miami for keeping the boat, less idle zones. We have a few decent rack storage places right near Boynton inlet, or if you want to trailer(which I would suggest for a newbie so you can see tha whole area), there are several lots.

Good feedback, thanks! I expect I'll be living downtown near the courthouse. My brother is in the exchange lofts and ill likely end up in the same building or somewhere close.

Interesting thought on trailering ... But I'm not going to have a place to store it since I'll be in a condo...

If you have a vehicle to pull it, it is actually cheaper to store it on your trailer, several lots to choose from. I remember when I first moved down, I had big dreams of touring FL by boat, 'til I realized how long it takes to get around. We trailer to the West coast, the Keys, Miami, and even some of the lakes and rivers in central FL several times a year. Trust me the ditch gets boring after a while.

and a vido of Biscayne bay on the way to the keys

One more from a lunch run on the west coast, I like to be able to travel with the boat.

Lots to do and see. If you're going to be in a condo I have a few places for you to check for storage.

Also, if you need help finding a place to live, I'm your guy.

Thanks guys!

Cash Bar ... It's only a 1-2 yr move, so looking to rent. My brother lives in the Exchange Lofts apartments which seem really nice and reasonable, so that's my default to start. Familiar with those? If it changes, ill definitely let you know! I'll take you up on the storage recommendations!

I should know definitely by mid November.

Sounds good. That's right after Key West so lots of people still playing here.
