I know of a few that aren't on this forum that I will reach out to as well. I think it would be nice to have a get together and cruise a bit. It's always fun to admire other boats and have a good reason to burn some fuel. Maybe a few stops and some kinda of food at the end.
I don't want to make an official anything out of it for obvious reasons. Keep your money in the gas tank. I will do some quick brain storming about it and post up some thoughts. If you want to discuss anything send me a PM.

myattitude 07-30-2014 05:09 PM

sundays work best for me, just let me know in advance. Come on guys chime in and lets make this fun, great people, awesome boats and some really cool pics. we need a couple cruiser to throw up some big wakes.

357 SR1 Formula here. Still trying to get the boat in the water since moving to the new place but we are up for this kind of fun too.

We had a out of state wedding on the same weekend as the poker run or I would have probably had the boat going by then.

gotstreetracin 08-03-2014 08:14 PM

I'm down! I've got a velocity 260, I couldn't get my boat out for the poker run, place we keep it was a mud pit!

tomcei 08-04-2014 11:31 AM

Ok... I've been scoping out a few spots to raft up/ beach/ swim and there are several good places. I'm thinking we run up the lake and chill/ float around for a few. Let everyone regroup and settle. We can then hit another spot and do the same before we head to a final destination. Question...I would like some comments here. I'm kinda torn between finding a marina/food joint with amenities or raft off // beach the boats in our own area. We can supply some indoor out door carpet pieces if you don't want your baby to touch the shore or turn it around and anchor. I can grill some dogs and burgers and have a some seats around. Cheaper to do our own thing but not as easy as hitting a dock. Of course we might need to hit a place during off peek to grab seats together or make some arrangement with the facility.
Your thoughts??

So far with the other two I called:

30 Activator
28 Apache

Which weekend are you thinking about? And what are everyone's thoughts on doing a monthly run? That should give people some good photo ops.

Out There 08-04-2014 08:42 PM

I'd be in for the next nice weekend. Saturday or Sunday would work for me.

tomcei 08-05-2014 05:19 AM

I'm thinking within the next two weeks.

This gives me enough time to iron out the details. Proposed date....8/17/14 This is a Sunday. We can meet up around 12-1pm so we don't interfere with Church and Lunch. If this is a conflict for someone please speak up. I don't know if we can accommodate everyone but this group is small enough to try, at least on the first go round.
We can buzz the lake for a little while then get a bite to eat before everyone wants to head to the house to prep for Monday. The eating won't replace a dinner but I'm always hungry after lunch and before dinner anyway. I will make a firm call on the plan by the end of this week and hopefully it works for most. It will give us all a great reason to run our boats and meet people with the same interests. I can't get enough of power boats and talking trash with friends, especially if there is meat on a grill close by.... It will be nice to run around with a few boats and not deal with some of the stress that a big event can cause.

myattitude 08-05-2014 09:58 AM

I am game for the 17th, I think based on the list we could really get some great photos, I really like the idea of all of us getting together once a month for some fun and running our boats. Nice to see afford riggs together having fun and just talking $hiT, lol We need a cruiser to throw some big wake and get some air shots.

Anoller 08-05-2014 11:07 AM

Where would people like to meet up. Preferably somewhere with public ramp access, but it's up to anyone where we all rumble into.

I have the cruiser but don't want that fuel bill to run all day on it but if we want to get some air shots for a little while out in the main channel by holiday, our pig can throw a nice wake for sure!

debcod2 08-05-2014 01:24 PM

Besides if I take the cruiser, then I cannot play with the new toy. I would be down for the 17th as that's my birthday and would be running my 25' Warlock

myattitude 08-05-2014 02:04 PM

Happy Early B day bro. Awesome new secret weapon. I feel you on the fuel bill, lol. I am game for some air born shots

Bummer...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok this is the deal... . We start gathering in "Cocktail Cove" at Noon 8/17/14. We will leave at 1pm sharp

The first stop is up the Chestatee approx 16 miles. The 2nd stop is just before Gainesville Marina approx 7 miles. The 3rd and final stop is near the mouth of Six Mile Creek approx 11 miles .

Stop 1 & 2 will be for 30mins. each . (time to regroup/ quick dip in water/ etc).

The 3rd and last stop will be on a beach so we can eat. Anchor, raft up, beach the boat whatever your preference is. ( I plan to pic / claim it early that morning. Obviously I may need to improvise)

I will provide a map with some details when we meet in Cocktail Cove.

I need to get a count of people who plan to stay at the last stop and eat. I want to make sure we have enough food. I believe we will make the last stop by 3pm. That being said we should be putting burgers on a plate by 3:30pm. If your a Vegan bring yourself some celery sticks!!

People can do as they please at anytime and there is no obligation to stay and or eat. This is family fun stuff. No "balls out" (speed wise for you dirty minded folks....you know who you are)

I'll start the list in the next reply..

aquaforce 08-09-2014 08:29 PM

USCG did not accept my first submission and I am waiting on a BOS returned from the seller. Since I have been slammed at work and my paperwork on the boat is not happening I have not gotten around to get my maintenance done so we are not in the water yet.
All the arrangements sound great and I am looking forward to getting together with you all when I can.
Post up some of the pics if you all can. I am really hating that we are not in the water yet but maybe some pics will make me feel better............... or not. :(

twinscrews 08-10-2014 07:20 AM

I'm in 38 Cig. Maybe you guys can help. I want to redo the interior in my boat this winter and would really like someone local, any feedback would be appreciated.

Out There 08-10-2014 08:26 AM

Bino, clear out that mail box! Have some ideas on the interior. Maybe someone else will have some better local people than I. Used the best local one I know of last year and don't believe it would be done to the standards of your boat. We can talk next weekend.

We should have some good opportunities to do this again this year. Good luck with the paperwork!

tomcei 08-11-2014 04:54 AM

Found a great spot to cook out. Keep you fingers crossed I can snag it early Sunday morning. I'm starting to get excited.

myattitude 08-11-2014 10:00 AM

Good Morning Crew, Tomcei I was wondering if you need some help getting stuff together? I can run by costco and grab some burgers, brats and hotdogs? Water and soda as well. I can pre cook the brats so grilling them will easy. Let me know. Sunday should be a blast, looking forward to getting out and chilling.
Greg

tomcei 08-11-2014 07:23 PM

Thanks myattitude. I'll let you know soon. I will wait till Thursday before I decide on how much meat to bring. I will be requesting a final count on people that haven't spoken up on Wednesday. .. If you like brats then certainly bring some. I already have a secret Santa for the burgers. There will be burgers. Hot dogs. Chips. And water or coke to drink.

Ok Peeps...6 days left.

debcod2 08-12-2014 09:19 AM

Just found out the issue with the one lower unit on our Warlock so now we wait and see if they can get the parts and get it back together by Friday!

I hate the hurry up and wait game!

DirtyMoney 08-12-2014 10:53 PM

Would like to join you guys but going to Destin run. Hope to catch up soon. I should have the fountain back together before labor day and can get some running shots and put out a huge wake.

okay, if you plan to eat a burger and haven't spoken up yet please do so now.
I will review the thread to gather a count so we have something for everyone who plans to eat. Hopefully the weather will be good and we all have a great time. Looking forward to meeting some of you and chillin out.
