Ft. Meyers to Marco Island
Looking for recomendations on hotels with marinas. Will be in the area a couple times over the winter and want to do some boating between Ft. Meyers and Marco.
Will be storing my boat in Ft Meyers. Thanks for any local info and recomendations!! |
Pink Shell is super nice and it's on Ft. Myers Beach, doesn't have a full blown marina, but it's got docks and gas and stuff.
|
Lin, we'll be keep the boat in Naples Dec-April. Hopefully one of our mutual trips will overlap :)
|
Tough to beat Pink Shell it is very nice and right down the street from all the great little bars with out staying by them.
it is right on the beach with a nice bar and 3 pools and the marina is brand new South Seas Blows these is nothing to do there and it is expensive. Tween Waters the same unless you are into fishing. Naples Bay Resort,is nice and a short walk from all the nice restaurants and bars on 5th Avenue |
Other than the small area around the Lani Kai where all the college kids hang out, I'm not sure I would call any part of Ft. M Beach seedy, there is a ton of million dollar homes on it though, that's just my opinion though.
|
That's why we live in SW Cape, we can go to any of the places you mention in 30 minutes and then go home to our nice little area.
I think that stuff you mention is just about everywhere now, even in Naples and Marco Island, just my opinion |
Then call me seedy!! I drink at lani Kai. Like bar hopping on the beach. I'm 34 about to be 35 so no college kid here. Hemi I'm sorry but it ain't half as bad as your making it out to sound. My parents in their 50s like bar hopping down there. None of us are homeless, drug addicts or any of the sort.
|
Lania Kia has a newly redone indoor restaurant on the roof that has a great happy hour from 3 till 7 everyday even Sunday and the food is great . They make a killer real italian personal Pizza that is 5 bucks on happy hour with a view out the windows that stretches from Sanibel to Marco on a clear day..
Years ago I would not ever dreamed eating at the Lania Kia but a bunch of the Staff from Salty Sams moved over there and really ,made it a great place, The upstairs crowd is older and refined . Can't beat The beach for all its funky little bars . I will take them over stuffy overpriced Naples 5th bars anyday but to each their own. |

Everybody's entitled to their own opinion, I wonder what Key West is then, a flop house. |
Yeah if ft myers beach is bad key west must be in line with the worst ghettos in Detroit, la, ny and Baltimore. Lol
|
Was walking down the beach from the Lani Kai to Times Square tripped on a homeless person, dropped my drugs in the Gulf and spilled my drink!!!!
Lin....ran a few fun run/ poker runs with you on the Potomac and Patuxent when you had your MTI. We had the 38 Fountain w/6's and 700's. Have been down here for about 2 years. The Pink Shell is nice in Ft Myers, on the Cape Coral side of the river across from Ft. Myers, check out the Westin at Tarpon Point. Be careful we just came for a visit also. |
Beak boater still have the 38?
|
I was just trying to help out. I'm out ... You guy have way to much time on your hands. 2131 posts and counting.... I'm going boating
|
I absolutely have too much time on my hands right now. I'm sitting in a wheelhouse 75 miles offshore drifting next to an oil rig waiting for them to need me under the crane. I'm boating also. Lol. No hard feelings, most of us just don't see ft myers beach as a bad seedy area.
|
ICU LOOKIN If you ever get off the water and want to meet up at Ft Meyers Beach and Roll some Hobo's for some beer money to go out drinkin let me know.
|

Nope.......we decided not to go fast anymore and sold it. Sometimes I sure miss that boat!!! Got a 25 CC now.
There's nothing wrong with a 25' CC, that's what we'll be looking to get when we take our Formula back to LOTO here next Spring, so we're going to get some good use out of her down here this winter. |
Jim. There's only nothing wrong with that if its tied up next to your performance boat as a choice! Lol
|
FMB will be seedy only when I'm there.
I'm the white, greesy hand and neck and forehead, crack addict looking guy that looks like he's worth -$10. Don't judge a book by it's cover unless that book cover is me. Planning my upteenth trip there this winter. I would not visit there when I'm there. LOL. |

Assuming the weather is good, 1st wkend of Dec looks to be our inaugural trip to splash, shake the cobwebs and try southwest FL boating :)
Oh, Beak, saw on a previous post you recommending Tarpon Point. Found out a old friend of mine is the current Dock Master there :) and if the weather is good we may make the run up to visit. |
One more week! We'll be down on 12/27.
Looking forward to a week of boating and the News Years Day Run to Marco. Staying at The Pink Shell, Ft Meyers Beach. |
