Any performance boats around the weekend of Aug 1st. Staying up there for a couple of weeks starting Sunday and wanted to know if anyone is around?

2016 Lake Norman Fun Run August 19-20th

I think there were well over 40 boats the last couple years. We are bringing at least 5 boats or so from Richmond, VA, again this year for a long weekend (Thursday to Sunday).

Roger that. Our crew has grown quite fond of the Blue Parrot, and we stay on that end of the lake. I just checked, and some of us are actually coming in on Wednesday even. We are bringing a party-toon again so we can barhop each night.

we've been wanting to come down that way from Lynchburg to check out that lake....may come that weekend

Definitely do so. This will be the 3rd time we've rented the same house that sleeps 10, and it works very well for us. Part of our 'tribe' is even considering buying down there, we like it so much.

We are planning on making the Lake Norman Fun Run this year. Hope to see everyone out there!

hey everyone...looks like we may bring 2 or 3 fountains down,wheres a good place to stay that's close to the action and wheres the best place to put in a larger boat with a good ramp?thanks

This is the public ramp to use. It's not secured, but it is a safe location, and we've had no problems leaving trucks, trailers, or boats in the lot overnight. There are other options if needed. There is another ramp across the street which I have used when water was low on the lake last year. Even with low water levels, the lake is still accessible and navigable.

You want to be in the middle of the lake. The house we rent every year is close to just about everything, both water and land. We have 5 couples and 4-5 boats coming down from Richmond & Northern VA.

We are staying roughly here; and it's easily navigable at night too as long as you have a GPS to keep you honest.

It starts at the restaurant/marina/docks right next to the ramp/park that I posted above. I think we gathered there at 9AM-ish last year to over the map of the trek.
