I keep saying they should build a 24 closed deck as well. Bunk area with a porti potti underneath. Bolt up a 300 XS and let it rip !

Anybody see the 24 in PBM this month ? I haven't gotten my issue yet :rolleyes: But I got a copy of the article faxed over ... they got 58 with the 225 Opti ..... We should see some pretty good numbers with this 300 ! :cool: I believe the "testing" starts today .... I'll keep ya'll posted !

out of curiosity, how does this hull compare in size to the 23 Concept. Is it larger in freeboard. looking for a second boat between 20-26, thats well built more for fishing. BTW, that 24 w/300 is a good lookin boat. :cool: Thanks jeff

Thanks Jeff .... Not sure on the size comparison to the Concept ??? PBM did a nice test of the 24 Spectre this month ... that may be a good start ??? There are sooooo many boats in this range , but if ya want some performance , it narrows it down some .... I almost picked up a Contender 23 open ... but a Tournament Walleye team had dibs on it for the season up here and I didn't wanna wait until the end of August :rolleyes: I understand Yellowfin makes a 23 also ... I'd imagine thats a pretty nice ride !?!?!?!

I got to play with Steve's 24 Spectre in Ft. Lauderdale for a few hours one afternoon. I really liked it.

Are you still in the Concept, too?

Yep .... Still have the Concept .... Thats actually the "workhorse" daily driver of the fleet ..... Guess I'll have to get a red one of those soon too ? :rolleyes:

Give me a comparison of the two, you can pm me. Im going down in a week to order my Nortech 4300 and while im at it will make an appointment to check out a 24 Spectre like yours. Im wanting a real fishin boat like Yellowfin 23 or NorthRip 20 which is really 23.5. Quality is my main objective, then fishability, then comfort for a few family rides, and then speed. Thanks Jeff

Jeff ..... the Concept is a 36 with triple Yamaha 300's .... the new Spectre is the 24 with a single 300 .... I don't really know anything about the "smaller" Concepts ??? I do love my 36 however !!! :cool: Sounds like a fun project .... That "Northrip" is cool !!!

Cool project. What made you go with the Spectre 24 vs the Concept 23. Someone else bought a 23 Concept on this board and Im looking for a comparision. Is the Spectre larger in size, freeboard and all compared to the 23 I saw at the show, thanks Jeff.

I have owned 2 Spectre's (30 cat and a 24 cc), check out the 24, it is an enjoyable boat. The personable service is nice too.

Jeff .... to tell the truth ... the first thing that caught my eye on the Spectre was the 2 jump seats in the back ... I have two little boys and I thought that would be cool for them :D I was looking at a few used ones , and missed on getting them before they were snatched up .... so I ended up buying a new one ... Mine will be at the Tampa boat show this weekend and then headin up here for the summer !!! Just call Charlie at Spectre and have him build ya one to match your new Nortech ... :evilb:

Finally got the 24 in the water last nite ..... Had a nice little chop to run it in ... All I can say so far is WOW !~!! Lets just say I had a hard time coming in to work this morning !!!! :evilb: I'll report back in more detail once I've had some more time with her !!! :evilb:

I haven;t had it over 60 myself .

Old thread, not sure if you still have the boat. So how fast have you seen with the 300 on her? Do you like the boat? Still have her?
