I bought both sets of props from sunny (throttle up 34s and 36s) the 34s hit the limiter at 110 and the 36 eventually get to 113.

Cut the diffuser ring off and the boat will settle down. Friend had a 30 with built 500efi's that ran 114. Tried boxes, and lost speed. Imco shorties helped but the diffuser ring was the key.

good point. I forgot about the diffuser ring

Boxes don't seem to work on either boat. We tried the ITS setup and you need to fill the notch. Same goes for the regular IMCO boxes. Even then the boat doesn't seem to carry as well.

So is the Hydromotive prop a good choice for this set-up?

Hello Dean I purchased my first 30 in 1999 and have had 3 additional ones over the years. Not sure who Obryan is but very knowledgeable. I asked Jay when I ordered my 2001 about boxes he said don't waste the money. Jay did around 2000 or a little later raise the X dimension that made a huge difference in the boat. As Dirty Money stated Imco lowers have helped all I have owned. All of mine have had the 65-70 hop on flat water with the mildest hop and fastest being innovation tuned 500 efi with Labbed Bravos running 108. Only one I owned running Mercury props. Jay builds a great boat.
