I was on Tony from Frishini Motorsports 36 Spectre a few weeks ago. The boat is a rocket and handles awesome. Never been on a Motion but the 36 Spectre was very impressive. I was also on a 32 this summer with Ilmors and that ran great as well and handled like a 36

i have a feeling it is going to be a flip of the coin 35 motion or36 spectre ?

The Spectre is a great boat. The ONLY issue I have with mine is the "hop" around 60mph to 80 mph. It is only on smooth water, but if you want to cruise in that speed you can't on a calm day. Running with other boats my size it appears mine runs smoother and calmer than most in rough poker run water. We have done a few poker runs on the river and mine will easily come up thru the pack, easily passing other boats that appear to be getting toss around badly. The fit and finish is great, the layout is nice, and i have not had any issues for which you could blame the boat builder. I keep thinking I would like to have another one with bigger power (mine has 500EFI's) but these motors idle for hours, get decent fuel mileage, and Have never caused me any serious grief. They will run easily over 100mph, yet the boat still has decent acceleration. I don't think you can go wrong with the Spectre.

I believe the 36 Spectre has a wider beam. You get an extra seat in the back, but it also makes things that much tighter when it comes to slips/racks/storage/towing.
Does the either have a deeper tunnel than the other? I ask becasue that would probably make the decision for me a little easier. I know the deeper tunnel in the 32b Skater (compared to the 32a) makes a huge difference in rougher conditions. My other concern on either boat would be the drives on an IO. I cant see paying good money for a Motion or Spectre with bravo based drives. I would think they would not last and get real expensive quite quickly if they had to be rebuilt/replaced every so often. So the drives on the boat might be the driving criteria for me, rather than hull, if I were in the market for one of the two boats. |
The Bravos can last. Tunnel depth is the same.
