Hopefully they are SMALL turbines! Funny how in both videos you don't see the boat getting on plane.

Looks like the old Remax boat, it had 575's in it when it was here.

The engine bay looks really short, the only thing I can think that will fit in there without blowing them drives out of the water are Isotov GTD350s these make around 425hp.
Could also be Walter 601s but they are quite long a clone of the PT6 if so these make around 600hp. This is probably the only European engines I can think of that will fit in that engine bay. |
This is my boat I bought it at "Lakecumberlandmarine" and carried it home to Sweden where I live.
Itīs true that there were 575 previously. I have rigged it with turbines which gives around 600 hp, These turbines are from Sweden, and has been used in tanks. YES it's Bravo, not the best for the power. Max speed 132 mph, I also have two nice T58 1400 hp turbines in stock looking to rebuild the boat with them instead, wonder if IMCO SCX4 would handle the power or is it just # 6 who can do it. What do you think? |
that would be brilliant. I bought a Spectre 32SC last year. It has Ilmor 625s with Bravos and hits 130MPH on fresh water pretty easily. Do you go turbines for lower fuel and maintenance costs?
|
I wouldn't bother with anything other than Arnesons behind T58s as the torque will destroy most legs unless you go SSMVI.
Take a look at all the top turbine boats they are all running Arnesons or BPMs. |
I run with turbines because I like lightweight technology, the noise, the power, etc, etc.
Yes BPM or Arnesons would be the best choice, but also the most difficult to rig I think. I will not change too much on my transom, I also have a notched transom. So I wold prefer SCX4, if they handle the power? thereīs cats with blower 1,300 hp in front of SCX4, and it works. |
