36 spectre specs? width weight?
Im in the market for a 04-newer 36 spectre. I cant seem to locate the specs anywhere for the boats. Im curious what the weight is. *I already have a cat lift so wanna make sure it works. Also curious how wide the boat.
Anyone have any info on them? also anything to be warned about with these boats? |
I believe they are 9'6" wide. Hull weight roughly 2800 pound unrigged. Fuel and twin I/O you should be 8000-8500 pounds.
Not sure on this going from memory. |
10'3 wide 7600-8000 lb boats built very well and are an excellent bang for your buck, the specs are a close guess
|
You might want to call the factory in Ft. Pierce,Fl as they are working on a new "wide"body that is also a little taller with the wrap around windshield.

NADA book list em at 10'2" beam. |
Asked previous employee about a new wide body 36' and although he is not there anymore, it's not going to be realized anytime soon. The other issue is why buy new when you can purchase a known product for much less than a new one. You can buy a 36' for under 100K on this site - BIG SCORE!

Ill make you a deal...... If you find a cleaner 04 and in better shape then mine Ill take 10K off the asking price. call me Ill tell you everything you want to know about these boats.

225-205-4321 Nate You have a great looking boat. It definitely caught my eye as it already has a few of the mods Id do myself. Lights and stereo. But Im in the info gathering stage of the purchase at the moment and trying to decide exactly what I want this go round. I did confirm the width of the Spectre 36's at 10'3" and its too wide for my current slip. I was just able to squezze my Eliminator in the slip and it was 9'6" So I have some things to get resolved dock wise before I go too far into the search on the next boat, Hoping to get a bit more serious on the search by middle of summer. |
You should come check it out. You will leave Louisiana with a Spectra, since Outcast thinks a spectra is a entry level cat I'm sure he'll be making the move to the big league.
(he's a good friend if you don't like mine you may like his) Also note if you gonna do a system like mine budget 15K. |

I started with my cat ventures with a 25, then the 30. Thought I had the entry level covered already but who knows. :party-smiley-004: Once I get my docking situation figured out, I may take a few road trips. |
In my opinion you are out of the entry-level range by for. As far as the stereo system your chest will hurt by the end of the poker run the bass and sound quality is amazing.
Good luck to you on whatever you decide. If you have any questions feel free to call. |
Nate isn't that your first cat????....entry level.

Is there storage areas for the bumpers and such on the 36's? It appears the area behind back seat just infront of the hatches lifts up.
|
More storage them you think. You can fit a lot behind the seats.

All the 36's built by Jay were 10'2" beam. As far as weight the best example I can give you was zipp express which weighed 7200 lbs dry if I remember correctly. that was with 500 efi's and bravos

Congrats on the sale! I didn't realize you were looking to make a move... it seems like the Spectre's offer a lot of bang for the buck. Good luck!

I didnt plan on the selling mine this soon with the market being what it is, and I had planned that when it did sell I would just be getting another Eliminator a few feet larger but Lots of nice boats available for good prices. So now Im looking at several options to get the most boat for my money. whether thats a Spectre or Eliminator or who knows... :party-smiley-004: |

My 36 was a great boat. My first twin engine cat, my first true tunnel. It had MDG 650's and the fastest we ever got it to was 116. It has a great interior, alot of cup holders and a really cool ice chest behind the seat.
The only issue I had was the porpoise. I liked the the giant tunnel tab (especially for sqeezing out the last couple mph) and it helped a little, but it still annoyed the hell out of me. If I remember it was from 65 to about 85, a great cruising speed. If you can pick one up for under 100k, which is crazy cheap, JUMP on it. Put 750-800hp and upgrade the drives, and you will have a absolute killer cat. |

Interesting that you had the issues as bad with the MGD 650's. The little bit of research Ive done pegs those as being the perfect power combo to push thru the hop seemlessly. |

The porpoise is what worries me with these boats. Where Im at 70 would be the ideal cruise speed most of the time. Some sellers will be honest about it, others will not. Im not a huge fan of big power so I may end up sticking with the Eliminator line of cats. never had the porpoise issue with either my 25 or my 30.

I'm just saying if I did it again, I would do 800hp with a set of the new Imco surface drives. I think that would be neat. |

I had no issues with the power at all. It would push right past the hop just fine, but like yourself, I liked to cruise between 70-80, and unless we had some really good chop it would hop like crazy. You can bury the tab, but that sucks too.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. After being on your lake this weekend the 36 spectre or a center console would be the ideal boat for that water. It was never flat. Tons of chop coming from all directions. You would find yourself hard pressed to keep the spectre under 90mph in that water though. My worries would be drives not the hop. It seems like a lot of fun and can't wait to get back. |

They just hop....alot......in a certain range. Upgrade the drives and put 800hp to it, and you have a home run......just don't run between 65-80...:lolhit: |

I really just need to drive a few of em and see if they fit what Im looking for in the next Cat. My 30 served me well, Im just ready to go bigger now that its gone. The water was rather calm this weekend. It usually much worse. You caught it on a off weekend. |
Stylin was 10 foot 2 inches
