I've been trying all summer to get a set of 5-blades from Dewald, but no luck yet. If I ever get 'em, I'll post how they run with 300X.

I am running 5 blade Dewald through hub 5 blades 31 X 14.5. Best set of props I have ever owned. I tested over 10 sets of props before I got my hands on theses. You will not be disappointed.

Look what just showed up today! Dave didn't even tell me he shipped them. They are 14.75 X 31. We have an event to attend tomorrow, but I hope to try them out on Sunday.

Have you compared them to the 4 blade Bblade Blaster props ?

I did test a set of 4 blade BBlaster props. I don't recall what size they were. It was whatever Brad recommended for my set up. They ran OK but nothing like the Dewalds.

I liked the 5-blade Dewalds. It was already 80 degrees with high humidity by the time I got on the water and they ran 103 with the wife, me, and 60 gallons of fuel. That's as fast as my 4-blade Merc cleavers run with 2 people in the same conditions. These props are not matched for my engines, either. I could spin the LH to 6360 and the RH to 6140. I should be spinning both to around 6700 on a hot day with a target of 6800 in cooler weather. You always felt hooked up with them. Planing was about the same duration as the cleavers, but felt different with a bit of vibration until they grabbed. I assume that's the difference between over hub and through hub designs. I had a hop at my normal 5000 RPM cruise, but gained 4 MPH there from 80 to 84. However, I discovered that I can now cruise at 60 MPH and 4000 RPM without a hop. I can't do that with the cleavers. They're so different! I plan to call Dewald to see if he wants to drop down to a 30P or just adjust these 31's.

I run 30p 15.25 5 blades on the 308 Skater with 300x’s. I turn them 6600rpm with 2 people and 80 gallons on board.
Vibration getting on plane is normal but once they hook they should be smooth. Dave can massage the ones you have for sure. It may take a few reworks to get them to the sweet spot. Keep in mind you will loose a couple hundred rpm going from 4 to 5 blades. Depending on your engine height you might try a smaller diameter which will gain you some rpms.
