36 Statement Cat

New to Statement Cat. Coming from a 36’ Skater and being my first outboard cat. Must say to this point I’m happy and impressed. Figured I could post this for others to add their thoughts and opinions.

YTown42X 05-03-2021 04:49 PM

Figure I’d start things off.

Do you have any pictures?

Those dark colors look sleek!! How do these 36's handle the rough water? How many have Statement cats have been built and are they all in the US??

I am not sure how many they have built. I am the end user/owner on that particular boat. The boat handles rough water fine. Adjust your approach and speed and it navigates particularly well in rough water. Boat spends half its year on Lake Erie which is particularly rough. We lost very few days due to roughness on the lake.

Thats good to hear. Taking delivery of mine next week. Cant wait!! Ill post pictures.

I was wondering how you like the boat still, I am looking at outboard cats and would be on Lake Erie with it too.

I wouldn’t change a thing. I came from a Classic 36 Skater. So that boat will go through anything at high speed. Will you be able to do that with an outboard cat….no. 1-3’ you can rip. 4-6’ on Lake Erie? Slow down. Take your time. Don’t beat up the boat or yourself. Anything bigger than that and you shouldn’t be out. In fact probably shouldn’t be out in 4-6 but if it kicks up while you are on the islands then you can get back.

I wanna see your cat. Are you going to Oktoberfest?

jsteve5050 10-04-2021 08:36 AM

We currently don't have a boat but we are looking at outboard cats. We are trying to decide how big we get into this since we have not had a boat for a while and would probably do poker runs in Michigan and Florida as we get closer to semi retiring.

Did not do Octoberfest. Was supposed to do Keywest but work obligations did not allow it to happen. I believe we are trying to do some runs around St Pete for New Years but again not sure work will allow it

So I have started poking around looking at the OB cats. And the statement has grabbed my attention. What kinda numbers are turing with the 450s. And any idea on how it preforms compared to other 36 OB cats?

From what I can tell while running with the other cats is it’s on par. Happily and easily will cruise along for hours at 100 mph. Perfect situation and conditions you will hit 120 mph. I have seen one tested at 125 mph.

Last time in Florida I did approximately 700 miles with an average speed of 105 mph

Anyone put 300R's on the Statement Cat? How did it run?

I’m 99% positive only 450’s have been rigged.

Where all did you go for that 700 miles?

YTown42X 05-09-2023 09:34 PM

Pretty much all around Tampa Bay for three days. Tampa to St Pete to Clearwater and down past Sarasota. Definitely went through a bunch of fuel. Nothing covers ground like these outboard cats.

Updates? Do you go to restaurants with it? If so where do you recommend?
