Chicago boat show and made a visit to the Sunsation booth and man do I have the inside scoop on the new 32 and 38. Even pictures (at least of the 32 Innovator)
I will let Dave @ Sunsation post to see if he wants me to let the cat out of the bag
Sorry to leave ya hanging but all I can say is WOW
New looks, totally new innovations, stuff you have never seen before etc...
Come on Dave, chime in and let me know if I should let the boys know

HP,
Let the cat out, if you saw it at the show then all should know what you found. Not a lot more info I can pass along on the 38, now the new 32 is pretty darn sweet even though the first one is still in the mold, it will be one that will shake up a few folks.

David are the Innovator and the Dominator going to stay two different boats? I guess what I'm asking will it be possible to order a Innovator with the interior of the Dominator. Or order a new boat with a compination of the two, fiberglass engine hatch, regular engine hatch, rear bench seat, or bolsters for the rear, ect. am I making any sence. I'm all worried I jumped the gun on my Dominator, not waiting to see the Innovator. How is the price compairison on the two?
Thanks Kirk

Without further delay,
Guys, first off,
Sunsation is or will be offering a windshield as an option on the 32 Dominator and 288. The windshield boats will come with a new Kick Ass looking dash that incorporates a "all in one" molded design. Much smoother looks than the current design. Switches ahead of the gas sticks, tab and drive monitor ahead of that all easy to read and very good looking. Nice touch Sunsation
The 32 Innovator appears to be mostly a POKER RUN boat where occupants will spend most of the time in the cockpit rather than the amenities of the cabin. I could be wrong but from what I see, it appears as that is the case.
The 32 Innovator will incorporate a set of side by side bolsters up front that is CENTERED within the beam of the boat (similiar to how a cat boat is layed out).
Aft of those front bolsters is a custom set of three side by side bolsters that are used in place of a bench seat. These bolsters are custom built by none other than McLeod.
The dash on the 32 Innovator is totally new, it is as wide as the side by side bolsters, has power foot rests, looks like a F14 fighter jet layout
, includes MONSTER gauges
, starboard steering, center (between seats) gas sticks and yes twin rearview mirrors to aide in poker runs.
The new 32 comes with the new rear racing hatch that JefferyBoy has already sneak pictures of. It also comes with Sunsations new STEPPED HULL, thats right, stepped hull as in a radical step. Double step as well as a few notches in the hull up front in the "vee" as to prevent "hooking" as I am told. The steps are pretty agressive and really bring out the "WOW" in the boat.
The other "never seen before" piece to this boat is the entry into the cabin. NO cabin door, no sliding door, I am told that the entire dash layout raises up and out of the way to allow access into the cabin. It does this hydraulically. Imagine sitting down in the bolster, hitting a switch and having the dash raise up allowing you into the cabin. Again, details on this might be alittle sketchy but this is what I was told.
Boat is 32'3", 97" beam, 36" draft just under 7,000# and has a race fairing.
They are also offering a few totally new paint schemes. The one that caught my eye was the Poker Run series 2 design. Imagine SUNSATION in large kick ass lettering along both side of the hull. Along with some great colors, it made for a very nice looking boat.
Sunsation will equip the boat with whatever trailer you desire, however they had a few boats on display that were sitting on Manning trailers and I must say they are a very nice trailer. In fact the Manning guy laser cut the name "Sunsation" into the side channeling of the trailer and backlit it so the name stands out at night. Very nice touch..
Here are some scanned photos of the new interior
Dave, did I miss something? maybe you can fill us in on the details of the operation of the dash/cabin access.

hp500efi thanks for the pictures and details, the rear bolster set up looks sweet. Boy I hope I didn't make a mistake getting a Dominator, Did you get an idea at the show how much the Innovator is going to cost copaired to the Dominator.
Thanks Kirk

Kirk, no talk of prices. The first 32 is in the mold right now.
IMHO, I think the 32 Dominator will be a more usable boat and the 32 Innovator a true poker run boat, but as I said, I could be wrong.
I would however talk to the boys at the factory and see if they can give you the new "dash" layout that would be standard on your boat with a windshield. I have no idea if the new dash can be incorporated into the Dominators fairing. I do like the new windshield dash

HP500efi The winshield would be nice as long as it doesn't take away from the look of the hull. It's a mood point for me, my boat was finished the day after
Thanksgiving.

The 2up bolsters are cool looking but practically speaking; I'm not a fan. I had a two up bolster on my 91 34' Scarab and I got kind of tired have my ex-wife sitting so close to me all the time. I like the separate bolsters just fine.
The other wierd thing about 2up's is when you take your buddy out for a ride; it's kind of wired having him sitting right next to you...
my .02
all that said: the boat is VERY COOL LOOKING and I'd seriously consider it...along with a few others...
