I Was In A Poker Run In Pittsburgh This Weekend Running In The Top Three And Need To Squeeze Some More Power Out Of My 32 Dominator With 500efi-30" Bravo 1 @5100 Rpm- Gps At 82.8, The Boat Of The Day Was 35' Baja Called Poker Face( What A Beautiful Boat)- They Were Running 85.6 Mph With 525's-i Will Be Running With Them Again In August And Would Like To Run Even With Them, Can Anyone Help Me Get A Little More Out Of My Sunsation?

I may be wrong, but I would think a Dominator with 500's should run better than 82 and some change. Every test I've read about 32s with 496's the boat ran 82-84mph.

When I test drove one before I bought mine it ran 87 with 500s.

I JUST BOUGHT THE 32 IN MARCH THIS YEAR-IT IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR EXHAUST MUFFLER INSERTS. DO YOU THINK THIS COULD BE STEALING SOME HP?IT WAS VERY HOT ABOUT 92. I HAD A FULL TANK WITH 4 PEOPLE,THE BOAT RAN VERY STRONG AND OUT OF 48 BOATS I WAS OUT FRONT FOR MOST OF THE DAY EXCEPT FOR A 27 BLOWN FOUNTAIN AND A 35 POKER RUN KEVLAR BAJA NAMED POKER FACE.- THERE WAS A CIGARETTE AND A DONZI 38ZR A 40 BAJA WITH TRIPPLE 600'S, SO I AM VERY PLEASED, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT LITTLE THINGS I CAN DO TO GET A LITTLE MORE OUT OF IT.I HAVE A SET OF 32 LABBED BRAVOS I CAN TRY, BUT I NEED TO GET MORE RPM'S.

It will be interesting to see what the 32s will do. The factory spends a lot of time testing different props so my bet is the 32 will be too much without some other changes.

The Arizona Speed Marine link looked interesting.

this is a little hard to believe, I suppose its possible in perfect conditions, but they run high 70's on a regular basis. I've outran 496 HO 32's many times with my '96 Dom. with 502/415's best I've ever seen was 79 on GPS. 82/83 is the norm for a 500HP 32 Sun.

I rode in Dragonheart's 32 Dominator when it had 496 HO's and with 4 guys it ran 80 MPH GPS on St. Clair during the rally. I also rode in Frank's 32 SS with 496 HO's on St. Clair last year and with 5 of us in the boat it ran 82 - 83 MPH GPS.

Don't waste your money.


if I were you, I would look to the drives. Dominator Scott (not sure if he is a member here or not) installed a pair of Land and Sea stern jacks. A Bravo set back box of sorts. He claimed the boat planed better, handeled better, and was quite a bit faster. Land and Sea no longer makes the box, but there are other products out there. Stellings comes to mind. the set back and a shorter lower should give you 5 mph.

Aside from drive and prop work, the biggest problem (if you see it as a problem) are the stock heads on our hp500efi. No matter what you do to the intake and exhaust, the restrcition is in the heads. So head work and a cam will yield results aswell. If you want to go that route.

Shoot a PM to Linster here on OSO. He has 500EFIs that he has bumped up to 600HP with cam and head work, as well as a homeade mono-blade kit like ASM. He knows his stuff. He has twin bumped 500EFIs in a 35 Nordic and is comfortably in the low 90s. Much of his work is listed here on OSO on other threads.

There is a 32 single up here that we are putting a quadrotor on!! :evilb: It already ran in the mid 90's!!! :evilb: :cool:
