What is the biggest single engine, you can get. Thanks JOHN

Re: question for you sunsation folks
Size engine or size boat?
You can get a single engine 32 (only a few have been made) but normally the 288 is the single engine boat. Engine wise, the biggest that you can get is a 525 but with the right amount of prodding you can probably talk Joe and Wayne into a 600 SCI. They did build a 288 with an Ilmor V10 for a client in Greece: http://sunsationboats.com/justleft031.asp |

80's doesnt sound that far off with 700 hp+. Here is a ASD single 32 that claims 103! http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-13555.html |

A good friend of mine, Emil has a 2003 single engine Dominator with a 500efi / whipple that consistantly runs 84 MPH. Dave F from this board lives in MD and boats on the upper Chesapeake Bay. He has a 32 single with a 598 M5 procharged engine that approx. 1200HP on Dean Nickerson's dyno. I am not sure if he has dialed it in yet or been able to get a top speed number yet. All of these boats will around the Potomac/Chesapeake Bay area; he probably knows Dave or Emil. |

John,
I am always in for a trip to Jellyfish Joel's. Just need to add warm weather. Ty |
Re: question for you sunsation folks
Speeds of 100+ on a single 32 are possible with the right combo. It's true what Ty said, (thank you Ty). I have had some issues getting dialed in but, I will be ready this summer. And I will finally get to see that new 32 you have Ty. Fitting all that hardware in was a night mare. I had to make my own compressor brackets, intercooler bracket, piping you name it.
Obviously my former M4 is serving you well? Cant wait to see it again. DAVE F |
Re: question for you sunsation folks
Old school maybe, But I'd rather have 2 smaller engines instead of a single monster...

However, if it's total dollars you're looking at, a monster single is still cheaper in the long run. Everything from maint, fuel and related equipment. Oh, and don't forget faster too! DAVE |
