Anyone shopping for a 28 Sunny there is a sick one for sale in AZ. It is on boattrader online, it is a 01 with a 502 mag for 48K. The thought I would give a heads up. Its seems like the ones I am interested always come for sale when I am not in the market.:(

Selling for 48K, I'd say prtty bad. Maybe it has nothing added to the boat, base everything with lots of hours. I could be wrong but I wouldn't let mine go that cheep.

I'd say that boat is priced about right. The ones I have seen priced higher stay for sale for ever! If I was in the market I would be all over this boat. You could probably arrange transport from a RV hauler for about $1500.

You are right magic. I sold my 28 Sunsation quick but I didn't ask 90K for it :rolleyes: The dealer around me is asking 89 for an 05 that's got a plain jane 496 not even an HO :eek:

I told the salesman, plan on sitting on thsi boat for a long time! I Laugh at some of these prices of used boat.

You are right my friend. I am always looking even when I have no intentions of buying. This has enabled me to get some great deals in the past. That joker is going to sit on that one for a long time. Never hurts to call and try to beatem up on price though.

The 01 for $48k looks really nice in the photo! Shoot, trying to close on a new home so I can build a bigger garage for a bigger boat. If it was one year from now, I'd be a plane right now to meet a surveyor in AZ.

I thought it would sell quick esp if it was clean. I sold mine to the first guy because it was clean and priced right.

Doesn't surprise me. Even if it wasn't just right, at that price you had plenty of room to work on it.

Now now now I may do some motor work to this boat so I dont get smoked by everyone! Funny to see this discussion...I am the one who bought this boat. Took delivery last Saturday.

He's giving me crap because my boat only runs 54MPH. Nice ride. Congrats! You got one heck of a deal.

Another 288 for sale
 

I know of a 2000 288 for sale for 48,000. It has a 540 cu inch motor with a Blower Shop 1071 roots blower. XR drive with Imco full hydraulic steering. New 2005 Manning tandem aluminum trailer.

I want a clean 28 again with an efi motor. I just don't want to deal with the whole carb thing again.

Thanks we are excited. Boat needs a tiny bit of work but its mostly small stuff. Trailer brakes need some adjustment, It needs a spare tire and carrier. Trailer needs a winch strap. Right now its at the dealer because it appears to be running on the lean side for some reason and the outdrive has a little play right to left. Other than that its super clean. Not a tear in a seat or anything. I'm going to get all the little stuff done, put a nice stereo in it and call it done. Anyone know somebody in Phoenix that can build a Bimini for me? Thats the only other thing it needs.

This is not my first boat but it is my first Sunsation. Any thoughts, tips or ideas are appreaciated.

Biggest thing is with the 04 and older hulls (don't know on the newer hulls) is it doesn't need a lot of positive trim for top speed. If you over trim it it'll get a loose feeling to it and you'll scrub speed. The 288 feels light and right at WOT at just over 1/4 positive trim.

But it gets us to where we need to go, and usually just as fast as everyone else gets there!:D

It is the perfect boat for dock 3!
