We have had a few calls about this boat from the Sunsation website so I thought we would post a few photos that we have so far. The boat sold today. We have another one on order and the paint can still be picked out. Hideaway Marina (954) 943-3200

This boat needed some lime green trim in there somewhere to really make it jump.

What motors does it have?

hideaway 06-03-2007 03:06 PM

700 SCi Mercs and NXT-1 drives. This is a great set up. Even as big as the boat is with all of the options it can break the 100mph mark. The one year warranty is nice too.

I agree- bit more flash on the paint would look better IMHO.

MM keep in mind it was painted as a spec boat (no owner yet) so wild paint might = long floor plan/ no sale. The other thing is the boat is 43 ft long so wild paint= A LOT OF WILD PAINT. This is a blue version of Mental's red F4. I like it.

Leave the paint up to Mitcher T,after all he is the paint God:cool:

Mentalpause 06-04-2007 06:25 PM

I assume Mitch did this one like mine, with the entire boat painted pearl white, and the clear having spin drift in it. That makes a huge difference when you see mine in person rather than in a picture. I bet it makes a huge difference on this one too. I do like the idea of a little green in it to set it off though.:D

Boat looks great... Any reason why Sunsation does not add a nice small but effective windshield similar to a Nortech 43v?

Joe and Wayne like to feel the wind on their faces at 100+ MPH! :D

You are correct. Photos make it hard to see the detail. Just like your boat it looks red and white til you see it in person and the details come out. I agree some green would have been been cool. Maybe on the next one.

25 hors: I will be heading up to the factory soon to see the boat and will take some larger photos and can email them to you.

The cockpit is very deep and the fairing is fairly steep. With the McLeod electric footrests, you can easily get out of the wind and still have good visibility.

I hope Jo and Wayne don't shoot me for this but I bet if you wanted one as custom as Sunsation is I'm sure they might be able to build you one.

Probably would, but like K4M said, you don't need it. I am 6'2" and have no problem getting out of the wind. Short folks could have a problem seeing over the faring.

first week in Oct, I'll bring a real boat. is it still warm in your neck of the woods, NOTTTTTTTTTTT. But then again, colder water and air temps, good for a top end number.:D

First week of Oct? Which year? That time of year will give you perfect conditions so you might hit 75.:evilb:

And how about you - how was your ride in the F4 today?

Here are a few photos after the test run last week.

Magic Medicine 06-30-2007 06:09 PM

Why not put a 120 mph gps speedo in it so you really know how fast you are going? Sweet boat, I am sure whomever buys it will be a happy camper. Good luck with the sale!

hideaway 07-01-2007 11:05 AM

I'm sure you will see a different speedo in the future. You can change the Garmin to display the speed too. We would like to thank the Sunsation crew for building another great boat and Mitch for a great paint job.

Gary864 07-02-2007 12:17 PM

I saw this boat on Thursday Parked at Sunsation. It was super sharp. I love the colors.

canajun 07-02-2007 08:10 PM

I went out with Joe in that boat on Thursday for one last test before it shipped down to Hideaway. That boat does not need a windshield, and it has an LCD that shows the speed digitally, so when the 100 mph speedo isn't enough (I don't think even Wayne thought these would be that fast) you can still tell just how fast you are going.

Going 60 in one of those boats is like going 60 in a Lincoln or a Caddy on the freeway. Going 80 is like doing 80 in your Lincoln or Caddy with the windows down. Going 95 or so is the same, only your sunglasses try to pull off your face. So you had better get goggles.

As far as the wind, doing 50 in a Ranger bass boat is much, much worse. You really don't get that "My skin is going to blow off my face" feeling in the cockpit of the F-4.

Someone needs to order one of these with 850's or 1075's so we can see one really cook!

Honestly, doing 90 in an F-4 is less eventfull than 40 in my Nova. That boat is that good!

hideaway 07-03-2007 01:04 PM

Glad you enjoyed the ride. It is a great boat with 700's. You might see a 850 or 1075 boat out before you know it.

Heck might as well go with the Merc 1200's!

hideaway 07-15-2007 10:20 AM

No warranty on the 1200's so that is a tough motor to stock. We just sold our next two production spots. One customer ordered the 700's and the other is a 662 boat. Looks like it will be a little while now before a 850 or 1075 boat is out.

Reckless32 07-16-2007 11:41 AM

Can you get one with ILMOR V-10's?

They have turned out to be less than popular on the resale market. There is a 39 Outerlimits languishing in the classified with Ilmors and the owner will install 525's to sell the boat but still not sold.

From what I remember Ilmor doesn't want to help with R & D on the install with the manufacturers so most boat builders don't want to waste their time installing them.
