...and from what Ive heard, it was the only all yellow dom to leave with black stripes.. heard the rest were done in blue. The cabin interior, was it all teal suede when you owned it Gary? Its horrible! Im having it all done in white pleather.

Gary864 08-23-2007 08:51 AM

Yes it was teal. My wife picked it out. It really cleaned up well when we had the boat. I wasn't a big fan but it kept my wife happy and allowed me to get the boat. John ( the other brother) still teases my wife about to this day. When I owened the boat the cockpit and sunpad were yellow and black which has now been changed.

As for 32's that were yellow they made 2 of them your and the one with 1 balck and 1 blue stripe. It had 502 mpi in it I remember correctly. That was made after seeing mine at the Cobo boat show. His first name was also Gary.

that's the boat, black stripes, 330's teal int. he pick it up @ harrison marine repo'd, I think 1 motor was crapped out as well due to someone not winterizing I believe. He had the cockpit int. redone white & an off yellow that was poorly matched.

waterboy222 08-27-2007 08:01 PM

yup.. when i got it, it had fresh rebuilt motors and new cockpit interior.. but the cabin is still hideous for another month while its bein redone.. I had it at LOTO this weekend in the big water and she did great!

Gizmo 08-29-2007 02:03 PM

I have a 95' dominator and a friend of mine has a 94'. His is the 10th out of the mold and mine is #13. His has a pair of 502 efi's and mine has a pair of 500hps. Both are in very good condition. Mainly used in fresh water, with an occassional run to the salt. We boat on the James River, South of Richmond, Va., down to the Bay.
I will post a picture or two, later. I am at work (shhhhh), right now...... :signs069: :D

Gary864 09-13-2007 08:58 AM

I was unaware the the boat was repoed. It hashad more owners than I had thought then. I treaded the boat when I bought a 32 with blowers and some guy here in Michigan bought it then the next thing I new it was in Canada when Nick in MIchigan bought itand brought it back to Michigan. He sold it and bought a newer 32 and you bought if from the person Nick sold it to I think. I was on it maybe 2 years ago and it ran just as good as new.

Here's a 1994 (the #5 hull). Might be the white/pink one you're refering to. Just brought back to Michigan after 8 years in central Illinois. She'll be on Lake Erie in the spring! :D

I just bought a 1996 Dominator. This is the boat that was owned by Ran-Dom 32 years ago.

God that’s funny! I haven’t been on here in years and just popped in for some reason. That is my old boat. She has quite a story behind her. I sold her back in ‘13 after spending about $30K fixing everything that we didn’t know was wrong with her when we bought her from a guy in Central Illinois.

you can be sure it’s her if the transom is gel coated black. I think that was the only boat, at least that year, that they did that on.

if you get bored go over to the “Beware” section and do a search on a “Beware Rob Grabowski”….there’s a whole thread on my saga with her. Wasn’t pretty. But I will say this….at least when I sold her…she was solid as a rock.

old tread ! funny it is still bringing great info after all these years!!!

These boats do seem to get around. I’m 52 now and the gift of arthritis would keep me from ever owning something that big again. My best friend and I owned it together from ‘07 to ‘13. By the time we’d poured all the money in to make the boat right….all the fun had just been sucked out and we sold.

But now that our daughter is out of college….I think I may have the wife talked into something more workable like a well treated older 25’ Aggressor.

New guy…feel free to PM with anything i can answer from my time with her. If it’s the same
boat…it always blew my mind that someone actually PICKED that pattern for down in the cabin. Just wow! Hahaha

She’s been gone a loooong time. But I always enjoyed driving her on either Lake Erie or the Detroit River. That boat was built during the Delta Pad years so it did make the driving different than the old straight V hulls and the follow on stepped hulls. Loved her in a 1-3 foot following sea. I DO remember one day having to chop the throttles a bit for a hard left to avoid a floating telephone pole (any SE Michigan boaters should know that drill early in the season. Lol). Lot of fun times….i might have the wife talked into an old ‘25 Aggressor in a few years when we retire. Always hope….damn things are an addiction!! Lol

I saw you said it has a black transom also. This one indeed does. I have a receipt somewhere stating that the transom was redone. Will have to chat on the phone one day. Currently need to see why trim tabs don’t work and new shift cables. I hope you didn’t pay to have the stereo put in. They did a poop job that I have to entirely redo. Also last season there was a bad electric problem with the port side and alternator wasn’t charging.

The boat in the promo add is “Dominator Scott”’ s boat….before he totally reimagined it into something really snarly….don’t know if he’s still around and owns it….bet a dollar he is; he was always fanatical about that boat.

Brought back a ton of memories to see her back in the water again. She should now pretty much fall into the category of a “classic” as she will be 30 years old next year.

only gripe I have is the name…..”Penny Pinched”????

🫣🫣🫣

it would take HOURS to explain the whole history on this boat. And, yes….Pennies WERE pinched prior to my watch on her.

But while I owned her….over $30K went into making her right…all the way down to cutting the rear bulkhesd out and pulling the gas tank to clear out all the soft spots. Throw in a transom rebuild, gimbals, addition of mechanical drive indicators and an entire re-rigging by another party after the first one took our money and basically bailed with it.

She was most DEFINITELY not “penny pinched”. 😊😊

hope she treats you well this season! Remember to tuck the drives in tight and tabs down before trying to get on plane…otherwise she just blows the props out…maybe a delta pad thing…we never figured it out.

If you ARE in the mood for some fun/cringing reading about her….just do a search for the name “Rob Grobowski” or “Beware RPM Extreme”.

Then we can talk about the couple grand spent on the trailer that the doichebag that sold iit to us said was in “great” shape. 🙄🙄🙄

The one lesson I’d share from her is this….doesn’t matter if it’s 500 miles away…be present when your purchase survey is completed…no matter what. That was a whole other story. 🙄

Dominator Scott. Man does that bring back memories especially at the old rallies and on the old Sunny website/forum. Only thing I really didn't care for on his boat was the Sternjacks. Was a cool, fast old Dominator. Especially if you like lime green!

Well Ryan, I had a baby and life forced me to sell her. She ended up going back to Michigan. Actually a young guy who works for Sunsation.
