Congrats to the Factory

Way to go guys on winning your division at the Shootout. One more award for the F-4 and against some good competition.

Knot 4 Me 08-29-2007 01:19 PM

We saw the winning run. The factory F-4 looked good at the dock and going through the traps at 99 MPH. Congrats to everyone involved!

Von Bongo 08-30-2007 10:30 AM

I was very impressed with the F-4 when I had a chance to look it over. It is HUGE. I saw a 32 on 54 at raymonds and it looks like a toy compared to the F-4.

The black and green looked very good and the attention to detail was well done. Didn't get a chance to go in the cabin but I assume it was nice as well.

Mentalpause 08-30-2007 05:58 PM

Congratulations to everyone in the Sunsation family. Like Knot 4 me said, the boat looked great on that last run.:D

Von Bongo, if you see us at LOTO sometime just stop us and you can look over the cabin and we can take it out for a test drive.

Knot 4 Me 08-31-2007 09:33 AM

Cabin is very impressive. One piece liner with plenty of glass exposed to show off the incredible mold work. You won't find a bunch of plywood and fabric down there.

lotoboss 09-09-2007 11:24 PM

i thought the detail on the boat was great, it would be a tuff boat to keep clean but definitely turn some heads.

Boomer 880 09-12-2007 09:18 AM

Great job Sunsation!!!

I still owe SOMEONE some beer, as this boat is fast.

I didn't forget about it. Boomer still owes me a 12 pack of Bud Select. Once I get that Myco trailer ordered I will bring it up to Lake Michigan just so I can collect the 12 pack.:cool-smiley-011:

Oh yeah - I guess I better get that truck ordered too.

And it is earning interest too - I think he will owe me a case by the time the payoff occurs!

You guys in Missouri sure add on a lot of interest! I sure hope Tony and Guido don't show up to collect. Consider it done, if you ever get that wicked fast boat up here!!!

We are bound to run into each other sooner or later. I hope to trailer the boat a few places next summer, so maybe we can hook up somewhere.

Is the bidet installed and operational on my new boat yet? Is it safe to operate it at top speed...which in this case is @ 79 MPH?! :cool-smiley-027:

So you might actually un-winterize the air next year? :hitfan:

Very impressive, cant see a half mil for it but impressive non the less. For that money I would have expected more creature comforts in the cabin, leather, fridge, stand up head, etc.,

That was it, and the cabin does come with the creature comforts you listed plus many more including DVD, E-Pkex, microwave, air/heat......

Obviously the national rep and the local rep need to contact you for info, cause neither corrected me on the vinyl, neither said a word about leatherette, both told me no side entry could be ordered, I sat in the cabin and talked with them for a good 15 minutes.
I will head back to less sensitive waters.

GT,

That seems crazy that a salesman didn't race home to call you with pertinent information after talking with you for 15 minutes! They must have misprofiled you.

The boat is great, the price is fantastic when looking at other 43's that run over 100 mph on stock Mercury 700's. There is also a sizable difference between sticker price and the price you will actually pay. Side entry is an engineering pain in the azz when you only have 7 boats built in the first production year. Side entry maybe something they offer in the future but let them get 25 boats built then expect changes to be made. Mentalpause waited 2 years for his F4 to be built so I would say he is very well versed in the build process and materials used on the F4. He is also a pretty level headed guy that doesn't need a Baja owner hammering his ride about details that really don't matter.

I rode in the green F4 in the Atlantic ocean with 5 aboard and full fuel for probably 25 minutes at 100 mph and really never noticed what kind of material was in the cabin but I can tell you that this boat screams!

Check on the price of a new Outerlimits 42 or even a Cigarette 42X and let us know if 499K seems reasonable for the V Bottom of the Year, fastest in class at the Shootout 07 Sunsation F4!

Like I said, I know I was being defensive. I have no idea what you were told, but the facts you stated were not accurate

GT, you are correct that no side-entry is available at this time. My guess is it would take a lot of interest in that option for them to invest in creating new dash and cabin liner molds to accomdate the setup. McLeod already builds a side by side bolster so that part of the setup is alread complete. The material used in the cabin by McLeod is fairly new to the market and I too thought it was just a high end vinyl. It does not have the samel feel to it that the Ultra Leather used by Formula has. As far as the "custom" word being tossed around to describe the F-4, I believe a lot of that surrounds Sunsation's in-house production of a lot of the trim pieces used to finish off the boat. There are a lot of pieces on that boat that you cannot buy off the shelf. But you are correct in that "custom" does not refer to a customer being able to order the boat with different cockpit or cabin configurations like you can on some other manufactures boats. I do hope you decide to take that test ride.

Jeff

Well put, sounds like it's a difference in the definition of "custom".

GT, don't take offense by Mental's defesiveness, he's one of the most laid back offensive style guys I know. I'm sure he would gladly take a whole day off work just to talk boats with ya :) You're actions by deleting your original post, shows your a standup guy as well. Thanks.

GoodTymn 09-17-2007 09:14 AM

I stand corrected, I in no way meant any offense in my comments, appologies if interpreted as such. I will say that I didnt think the national rep was as well versed on the boat as he should be. As I stated the F4 was a jaw dropper, and standing in that Mcleod bolster was off the hook. If you had been with us at the show, you would have seen us pop back over there throughout the day. Their setup was right beside Fountain, and I can tell you where most of the people were hanging out (F4), over the 42Lightning. JS - if your in sales and your profiling, your losing money. When shopping for a boat the prospective buyer will also want to check out the boating family he/she is thinking of joining, so some good PR is in order if you want the family to grow. Hope this ends now, so we can get back to the party.

Just goes to show that I should never drink beer with K4M and then get on OSO after going home.

Dumb...:violent-smiley-045:

Get a ride on the boat and you won't be worried about the cabin fabrics! You can certainly disagree with anyone on here but just be ready to back up your thoughts.
Glad you liked the boat, Sunsation builds a great product and has unmatched customer service.

Yup. Just ask my wife and MP. They blame me for everything. And I'm such an angel...
